Theoretical Position of Pakistan's National Education Policy 2009 and Prima

The topic of this study was theoretical position of Pakistan's NEP 2009 and primary school Pakistan Studies curriculum. The purpose of this study was to see that either our government textbook of Pakistan studies is based on progressive themes or not. Moreover it analyzed the theoretical position of National Education policy 2009 and progressive Pakistan studies curriculum should look like at primary level. Similarly also check the facilities available in public sector primary schools for Pakistan Studies teachers to prepare activities accordingly. The study fall in the social constructivism paradigm and accordingly qualitative approach is used to conduct the study. The case study method was used and content analysis technique was used. For the purpose of data collection, convenient sampling technique was used. The sample was comprised of grade 4 and 5 textbook of Pakistan studies. Content analysis table check the progressive themes of NEP 2009 and assessment tables was drawn for the results. The conclusion of this study was drawn on the base of findings of the data. It's concluded that from the review of policy that check the theoretical position of NEP 2009 and curriculum implementation. NEP 2009 has twenty two progressive theme would be founded. It is recommended that the study may also be conducted on how progressive curriculum affect the student learning abilities and also affects the teaching and learning process in the classroom. In contrary to that public schools should develop their infrastructure that supports the progressive learning environment and organize some courses and workshop that make awareness among students and teachers how they learn efficiently by using progressive curriculum.
