Job Description
Conduct assessment of all mothers with children under 24 months that attend the OTP program and at the community.
Perform appropriate assessments of IYCF needs and malpractices, and analyze and come up with clear recommendations.
Develop an action plan to improve IYCF practice as per national guidelines and provide technical guidance to the nutrition teams (Nutrition Assistant/Lady Health Visitor/Lady Health Worker/Community Resource Person).
Ensure group counseling of the mother-to-mother support group at the community level (in each village) and conduct it regularly.
Identify model mothers and explore their best experiences to replicate the best practices within the community.
Ensure the setup of breastfeeding corners at each OTP/SFP site established at health facilities.
Provide appropriate counseling and awareness sessions for PLWs, caregivers of OTP/SFP beneficiaries, and mother groups on breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and maternal and child nutrition.
Provide tailored one-to-one counseling sessions based on initial assessments, offering practical advice and education to mothers on the key issues of infant and young child feeding practices.
Utilize the provided education material on breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices, relaying accurate, practical, and specific advice according to the mother\'s needs.
Produce monthly reports regarding IYCF activities and submit them to the project manager on time.

Child Protection activities.ensuring coordination with the key stakeholders.Ensure that all interventions are in-line with the strategy, and child protection standard.Visiting one stop center and child protection Case Workers during field visits.Working with children to develop new, creative activities as appropriate.Survivors and children at risk, including respect, dignity, security, and confidentiality at all times.Making best interest Principle the center of all interventions.

Followup on Preparation and submission of the timely Supply Request for supplies (MNP/IFA, Plumpynuts and other relevant items)with the donor in consultation with district and provincial Nutrition Coordinator for ensuring smooth implementation of CMAM activities
Travel as required to areas of operation to supervise, build capacity and provide technical guidance to the Community level staffing (Social Mobilizers) and Facility based staffing (LHVs & Health Promoters) for the direct implementation of the nutrition interventions
Liaise closely with the District & Provincial Project Coordinator and to ensure an integrated nutrition approach across sectors as well as coordination between Nutrition.
Where needed, oversee the piloted community nutrition approach and in close collaboration with the district Project Coordinator & district Nutrition Coordinator,Field Medical Staff implement strategies in line with the changing environment to ensure their effectiveness in improving child nutritional status.
In close collaboration with the field nutrition team, district Project Coordinator and district Nutrition Coordinator/Camp Nutritionist provide inputs into nutrition programme planning, proposal writing and reporting as required.

Provide data to maintain a regular database system of project monitoring and evaluation.
Consult with the project lead(s) regarding appropriate adjustments in program design or implementation strategies.
Assist and facilitate project staff at field level for smooth implementation of project activities.
Develop case studies/success stories to reflect project impacts.
