Neelum-Jhelum Consultants is a consortium of International Consultants comprised of NESPAK (National Engineering Services Pakistan), M.W.H USA (Montgomery Watson Harza USA), NORPLAN Norway, ACE Pakistan (Associated Consulting Engineers), and NDC Pakistan (National Development Consultants) Construction of Neelum Jhelum Hydroelectric Project under WAPDA is to meet fast – growing energy requirements in Pakistan. Overall project cost is Rs.404 billion (PC-1, Revision-3). The project utilizes a gross head of about 420 meters, with design discharge of 280 m³/s, to generate 969 MW, 4 units (242 MW each)by diverting River Neelum at Nauseri to the lower reach of Jhelum River at Zaminabad through a 47 km long tunnel system (6.5 meter Dia). 47 meter high and 135 meter long concrete gravity dam is to be constructed. Contract has been awarded to M/s CGGC CMEC, consortium China.
