• Over 10 years of experience in Microfinance, SME and corporate banking with private sector development finance agencies like Karandaaz Pakistan, Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company (PMIC), government agency like Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and HBL from banking sector.

Key assignments include managing Innovation Challenge Fund aimed to disrupting financial eco system in SME sector, core team member on establishing an SME focused NBFI, Pakistan Credit Enhancement Facility (PCEF). • At PMIC, delivered responsibilities as portfolio manager of microfinance portfolio, contributed to prepare working papers for PMIC Board, also core team member leading on transition of PPAF operations to PMIC that included feasibility study, business planning, draft risk policy and, draft procedures, portfolio monitoring (desk and field) templates.
• At PPAF, worked as portfolio manager and managed relationship with key accounts like NRSP Microfinance Bank, NRSP and Kashf Foundation. Supported senior management in developing policy papers specific to microfinance, in-house rating system, developing environment and social management framework.
• Remained involved in designing, implementation, monitoring and reporting of three highly satisfactory rated multi-year donor programs (two of which funded by IFAD and one by the World Bank). This involved program execution through implementing partners, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, coordinating and facilitating mid-term and semi-annual program implementation support missions.
• Manager at ICF&MEL Department, responsible for managing DFID funded EAGR Program. The responsibilitied include coordination, reporting, budgeting, managing MEL activities. Responsible to coordinate and manage Annual Reviews from sponsors, quarterly updates to DFID, coordinate and manage EAGR program related visit from DFID head, DFID external teams as well as DFID local teams to visit and monitor project locations.Â
• Established a full fledge MEL function at KRN, designed MEL strategy, Value for Money Strategy, developed and implemented MEL framework and M&E protocols and reporting systems. • As Portfolio Manager, I am responsible to monitor performance of the portfolio companies through in depth desk reviews and regular site visits to the partner institutions. This included review of quarterly reports, compliance and tracking of development outcomes and compliance with environment and social safeguards. • Contributed towards developing periodic working papers for PMIC Board, business strategy, drafting risk policy, procedures, process flows, appraisal and monitoring templates, as well as calibration of rating system of the newly established company.
• Assistant Manager at Pakistan Poverty Allevnation Fund, the lead apex in the country, remained involved in managing and delivering multi-sector programs primarily focusing on Governance and Social Sector interventions. I was responsible for designing, implementation, monitoring and reporting of different programs on particularly on rural development from multiple stakeholders including World Bank, IFAD, SBP, government and industry network.Â
• Operationally managed and delivered three highly satisfactory rated multi-year donor programs (two of which funded by IFAD and one by the World Bank). This involved activity ranging from program execution through implementing partners, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, preparing policy papers. I have delivered on many mid-term and semi-annual, annual and program completion reviews/ field visits missions from World Bank, IFAD, and other sponsors. I have worked designing TORs and contracts to engage third party consultants.
