Worked as a Senior Legal Transcriber. The main responsibilities include:
Transcribe, to a high degree of accuracy, recordings of conversations, interviews and legal proceedings conducted in English.
The material was highly accented, i.e. English with strong regional accent overlays reflecting mainly East and South-East Asian speaker backgrounds. Most of the material was also deeply challenging in that it covered intricate legal matters or technical jargons.
All of my work required to be certifiable as a true verbatim record of what was said, for legal purposes, usually appeal proceedings before the courts of Hong Kong.
