As Human Resource Manager I lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring, interviewing staffing, administering pay, benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Ø Be the first enlist all HR related queries and categories them toward solution.
Ø Administer HR-related documentation, such as contracts of employment
Ø Ensure the relevant HR database is up to date, accurate and complies with legislation
Ø Set up interviews and issue relevant correspondence
Ø Working closely with various departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures;
Ø Recruiting staff - this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, checking application forms, short listing, interviewing and selecting candidates;
Ø Developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management;
Ø Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
Ø Undertaking regular salary reviews;
Ø Negotiating with staff and their representatives on issues relating to pay and conditions;
Ø Administering payroll and maintaining employee records;
Ø Interpreting and advising on employment law;
Ø Dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures;
Ø Developing with line managers HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements;
Ø Planning, and sometimes delivering, training - including inductions for new staff;
Ø Dealing all government departments (PESSI, EOBI, Labor, Labor Court, and Civil Defense Etc.)
Responsibilities of Health and Safety
Ø Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
Ø Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
Ø Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
Ø Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
Ø Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
Ø Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
Ø Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
