Currently serving as “Manager Finance & Operations”, in Pakistan Strengthening Leadership with-in Union Councils to Improve Citizen Responsiveness (DAI-LUC) Project implemented by DAI Global, Prime responsibilities are to ensure efficient management of the operational and financial aspects of the project, as well as overall compliance with contractual requirements, DAI policies, US DoS/DRL regulations and local law. This position oversees finance, procurement, grants, inventory, logistics, human resource and record management for LUC’s activities and operations in Sindh and Punjab and supervise the day-to-day work of operations and finance staff. Position reports directly to the Program Team Leader. 50% of the job role focuses on finance and compliance, 40% on operations management, and 10% on grants management. The MFO provides programmatic, financial management, operations, and contract management support. Also ensures financial and operational functions support for the timely and effective implementation of the project’s technical scope of work. Provides counsel to PTL to ensure that resources are allocated and used in compliance with contractual requirements, applicable regulations, and appropriate standards and procedures. The MFO is responsible for the financial management for all project activities such as developing and managing the award budget, monitoring expenditures, and preparing financial reports. Responsibilities include coordinating the project procurement, contract, logistics, and human resources in close collaboration with project teams. Also ensures the project property management and records systems are set up, regularly maintained, and monitored. Implements fraud mitigation practices and ensures systems and processes are implemented effectively to support implementation of the project. Also supports the PTL in the management of the project, aligning staff, systems, and other resources to provide timely, cost effective, responsive, and high-quality operations and administrative support available resources, and in an environment with adequate internal controls, adhering to donor regulations, DAI policies, and local laws and regulations
Served as “Finance & Grants Manager” in “Search for Common Ground – Pakistan” which is managing two DRL funded projects & one cooperative agreement managed by US Embassy in Pakistan,
The Finance Manager has overseen all financial aspects of the Search South Asia portfolio in coordination with the Country /Program Director and is a member of the Leadership Management Team (LMT). This position was responsible for managing the finance and grants of Pakistan and Afghanistan Programs, including financial forecasting, budgeting, reporting and ensuring compliance of grants/contracts from inception to closure. Also managed the country finance team of Pakistan and technically supervised finance and grants team of Afghanistan. In addition, the Finance and Grants Manager also ensured that both program and operations staff improve their understanding of different finance and grants mechanisms and built their capacity to adhere to donor regulations related to reporting, invoicing, and procurement. The Finance and grants Manager reported to the Country / Program Director and is also technically supervised by Regional Finance Controller - Asia
Completed three and half year’s extensive training program as required by the ICAP with Khalid Majid Rehman (KMR), Chartered Accountants Islamabad. The firm is established in 1975. KMR is also an independent member of Leading Edge Alliance, World`s 2nd largest network of accounting and consulting firms. KMR in the past has represented accounting giant Deloitte and Touché (1992-2001), Moores Stephens and also Moores Rowland International (2001-2004) in Pakistan.
