Click to edit position descriptionPerform inspection of construction project electrical installations, including but not limited to detailed inspections of high voltage utility and electrical distribution systems, relays & switches, underground conduit duct banks, and elevated electrical work, etc., ensuring conformance to Contract Documents.
Ensuring all materials associated with electrical installations are in accordance with approved submittals and product data and in compliance with appropriate codes and specifications.
Review drawings and specifications and other technical documents.
Inspect and determine deviations from general compliance with Contract Documents; clearly and professionally inform the contractor of required corrections.
Monitor and document required field testing of electrical equipment and systems.
Document material and/or installation non-compliance and draft NCR’s.
Advise Resident Engineer and contactor of conditions requiring correction.
Monitor and document contractor resource utilization (labor, materials and equipment) for field changes, and time and material work and assist with negotiation of basic field construction changes.
Attend and participate in construction meetings.
Coordinate contractor activities with other prime contractors and owner’s activities.
Communicate all pertinent information to the construction and design project managers.
Work closely with the project’s electrical design engineering staff acting as their site representative ensuring quality electrical installations.
Verify equipment and materials installation for payment purposes.
Maintain Payment Quantity documentation.
Perform mathematical calculations as necessary during inspection activities.
Prepare detailed daily activity and progress reports.
