I am a Management graduate from the Institute of Administrative Sciences, University of the Punjab and I would like to be considered for the position.
Recently, I was working at Warid Telecom as an Organizational Development Intern which provided me with professional exposure and understanding of Human Resource processes at the firm. I was assigned to take the employee recognition newsletter into a whole new level and turn it into an organization-wide magazine. This time-bound task that required me to meet tight deadlines instilled in me the abilities of how to manage a time-restricted project in a dynamic environment. I assisted my line manager in revamping the organizational values, redefining competences and objectives which was followed by revamping of Performance Management System and remodeling of the Performance Improvement Plan.
Apart from remodeling and revamping, we internally branded the values and competencies so that the employees could own them. These tasks helped me develop key operational excellence, teamwork, creative and leadership skills qualities relevant to a successful Graduate Trainee and I am confident that these qualities will help me to become a dedicated trainee who delivers the best possible performance and is able to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Previously, I worked as an intern at Service Sales Corporation. I was involved in business process automation and converted all the physical employees files into electronic form so that it could be used to implement the human resource information system. I also assisted the organizational development team in arranging employee engagement activities that helped in boosting employee motivation.
Furthermore, to give back to the society, I got involved in social entrepreneurship and successfully executed the idea of Life Saving Cause- a blood donation society that gathers data of blood donors and make them available for patients-in-need. We provided blood to over 1600 people in one year, raised funds of over Rs. 200,000 and screened over 1800 people for Thalassemia and Hepatitis, free-of-charge. This journey groomed my ability to constitute teams, give them a direction and lead them to the set and achieve the right goals. Furthermore, by managing and interacting with a diverse of people I was able to polish my networking, relationship-management and communication skills. Therefore, I strongly believe that these qualities will not only help me to work efficiently in a cross-functional team but also enable me to come up with the best solution development strategies for Human Resources which will, eventually, enable process efficiency and operational-excellence.
I have been working as a journalist at Pakistan Today- a daily English newspaper. I have been writing various articles on current situation of the country for the weekly news magazine named Detailed News Analysis (DNA). Apart from this my routine work includes gathering and editing news items from the entire city and sports news from different sports which is followed by directing the page designers to improve the aesthetics of the pages. My time at Pakistan Today not only groomed my skills to communicate with a wider audience in writing but also honed my creative skills.
Being a Human Resource graduate, I have equipped myself with all the theoretical knowledge of different HR functions like compensation and benefits, training and development and also subjects like Project Management and Business Communication. By delivering presentations and undertaking different subject related projects, I have built confidence in myself to take on any challenges head on.
I believe I have the right amalgam of theoretical knowledge and practical experience which will provide me with a competitive edge to perform efficiently and effectively in my role, add-value to my team and excel in your organization.
