Assistan Planning Engineer/ Material Coordinator
Working at the Rehabilitation and Modernization of Trimmu Barrage initiated by Pakistan Irrigation Department vide Contract No. TPBIP/ICB-01 and funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) having worth of 9.532 Billion that includes a share of 1.93 billion for Mechanical Work. This project comprises mechanical works concerning installation of New Gates, Hoisting System and automation of gates operation through SCADA System.
Responsibilities:
Presently working in Planning Department as Assistant Planning Engineer/ Material Coordinator to:
• Installation of first stage and second stage embedded parts i.e. (Sill Beam, Side Sealing and other parts)
• Installation of Gates, Hoisting System, Grating System and Counter Weights
• Welding operation i.e. Inspection and Checking different types and position of welding, Responsible for Conducting WQT (Welder’s Qualification Test), Checking the Temperature of Welding Rods, Filler Material in SMAW, Prepare the Method Statement of WPS, Submitting the WPS for Approval, Checking the Welding Techniques, Position (1G, 2G, 3G and 4G), Inspection of Visual Defects in Welding and Checking and Arranging the NDT Techniques like UT (Ultrasonic Test), PT (Penetration Test)
• Installation of Superstructure and strengthening of existing barrage superstructure
• Inspection of material i.e. (Gates, Shafts, Wire Ropes, Sill Beams, Track Plate, Roller Trains, Gearing System and Rope Drum) and coordinate with consultant to inspect the material and approve it
• Prepare the method statements and monthly progress report
• Plan and procure the requisite material for upcoming activities
• Update BLS (Baseline Schedule) and PMS (Progress Measuring System) fortnightly
• To Coordinate with the Engineer’s representatives for instant sharing of necessary information regarding materials authenticity and vendor’s credibility in the market
• Prepare look-head plan concerning usage of material for the ongoing activities
Internship
Millat Tractors Limited (MTL) is Pakistan\'s leading engineering concern in the automobile sector, an ISO 9002 certified company for its Assembly Plants of Tractors, Engines, Industrial & Agricultural Products.
– Studied about parts different part of engine and the factors effecting the efficiency of the engine
– Worked in the Engine assembly, machining, tractor production and quality assurance department
– Made a detail report of my work during the internship
Summer Internship
Worked at operational power plant which contains three oil fired steam operated units of 210 MW capacity each;
- During my internship, I studied about boiler, efficiency of turbine, purpose of using super heater and economizer and how to control the rusting of turbine blades by increasing dryness fraction
- Submitted a detail report about all above things.
