I was assisting buying specialist MR Bassam Fazal. He was POL buyer for DESCON projects all over pakistan. We had to make sure the Availability of HSD at site. I also attended multiple meetings with vendors which taught me the skills of how to negotiate with vendors keeping in mind the quality and price key factor. The SOP's of procurement how demand is generated from site through their software till the delivery of comodity at site than how to close procurement and transfering the case to finance dept for further proceeding. The learning was amazing and it was totally different from bookish knowledge. Further more two projects on POL and cement were done in which the main aim was to find out types of them and after that listing the vendors of POL and cement all over Pakistan how much theyll be charging depending upon the location and what will be the lead time.
