Farida Shah, MPH BSc,N with over 15 years of experience working to improve reproductive health services in various countries. Her expertise includes develop reproductive health training strategies, training curricula, quality assurance standards and assessment guidelines and policies in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Lesotho South Africa. Her areas of expertise include provide technical support to health projects including training, assessments and quality assurance. From 2008- 2012, Ms. Shah worked in Afghanistan, holding positions with Jhpiego and Aga Khan University where she strengthened midwifery and nursing institutions and programs. Then, from 2012-2014, Ms. Shah returned to Pakistan where she worked as Midwifery Advisory for Jhpiegos USAID-funded MCHIP program. During this time, Ms. Shah succeeded in materializing the concept of Midwife-Led Birthing Centers in Pakistans Sindh province and standardizing five midwifery schools according to the standard based management and recognition approach for education. From 2014-2015, Ms. Shah has been working as a consultant for Arjumand and Associates, Pakistan Nursing Council and UNFPA Pakistan that focus on the midwifery workforce planning, policy and in-service training of reproductive health providers. Over last 5 years Ms. Shah has been working with UNFPA Lesotho, Palladium group Pakistan (DAFPAK Project) to improve reproductive health services and trainings.
Developed BSc. Midwifery Faculty development Manual & curriculum outline for undergraduate Midwifery education programs. Successfully conducted stake holders consultations with Pakistan Nursing Council, Midwifery Association of Pakistan. The Manual and curriculum outline was also presented to the selected Universities in Punjab province such as University of Health Sciences Lahore, Fatima Memorial College of Nursing Lahore, Fatima Jinnah Medical University Lahore & Services hospital Obstetric department Lahore. Feedback was positive and appreciative. Successfully submitted the final package within timeline.
