Foreign Trade Officer - CPU Imports
I am currently working as a foreign trade officer at Centralized Trade Import department.
I was selected as a Trade Trainee Officer because of my outstanding performance in CPU Account Opening. After 4 months of extensive training of Foreign Trade, I was deputed in Centralized Trade Import Department (CPU - Trade Import).
Job Description:
1. Scrutiny of Import Documents which include the following:
- Checking of Letter of Credit
- Checking of Import Contracts.
- Lodgement of Collection documents in core banking system.
- Creation of discrepancy messages of L.Cs. (MT-734)
2. MIS Reporting and Reporting to State Bank of Pakistan :
- Any type of report required by SBP regarding incoterms, outstanding import advance payments and others.
- Any type of report required by senior management and CEO.
- Arranging SBP approval from SBP for the transactions that require prior approval before execution.
- Correspondence with regulator through SBP RAS Portal (Regulatory Approval System).
- Correspondence with branches on pan Pakistan basis on FX Gateway Portal.

Job Discription:
1. Processing of Fresh Account opening forms.
2. Scrutiny of fresh Account opening forms.
3. Debarred list checking of Account titles and beneficial owners.
4. Processing of Account Maintainance forms.
5. MIS Reporting on MS Excel.
Product Intern

The duration of internship was 8 weeks. The tasks I was assigned by my team leader were related to market research and supply chain operations. During this course I fulfilled the following responsibilities:-
1. Conducted mystery shopping of various competitors of IWM in the furniture industry. Acting as clients and students.
2. Identified different trends, innovations, quality of products.
3. Developed power point presentations and key findings comparing the performance of IWM and it’s competitors.
4. Provided recommendations on how to maximize opportunities and investments based on research findings.

6. Obtained hands on experience on SAP for supply chain operations.
