Established under the Company’s Act 2017, Indiba Asia-Consulting is a sister company of Indiba-Africa Group, a strategic advisory firm established in 2005 in South Africa and with an office also in Rwanda. The company has become one of Africa\'s leading private Human Rights, Rule of Law, Strategy, Organizational Development, Training and Human Resource development specialists. Our clients, based in the private, public and civil society sectors, are leading African and international entities and include large multinational corporations, governments as well as grassroots, national, regional and international not-for-profit including the United Nations, the EU, DFID, among others.

As a Senior Associate for programme development and advocacy I perform the following duties:

• Develop business development strategies, programme proposals and grant papers;
• Assist the company in leveraging the experience of specialized work in the areas of human rights, EVAW and Rule of Law in South and East Africa into Pakistan and South Asia through the development of strategic media campaign strategy;
• Develop capacity assessment tools for policy advocacy and client management;
• Develop and edit contents created by professional associates and fellows for the company’s website;
• Conduct research on political developments and changes in the development and humanitarian contexts in the country and provide input for changes in stratcom strategy;
• Maintain close collaboration with media outlets and provide information to journalists and media personnel when and where required;
• Facilitate external and internal knowledge building and sharing

Currently working with a team of experts from DELFT, Netherlands on a Training of Trainers Programme focused on, “Gender, Sustainable Water Management and Climate Adaptation”. The progamme aims to train a selected cadre of government officials, civil society organizations and academics working on the issue of water management and climate adaptation in Pakistan.

The DFAT fellowship, ‘Rule of Law Impact of CPEC, Pakistan’, hosted by the Australian National University attempted to bring together Pakistani researchers and organizations to conduct high-quality research on different dimensions of the CPEC project and their potential impacts on the Rule of Law and governance in Pakistan. As one of the ten fellows from Pakistan my research (in print) as part of a detailed policy document, focuses on “CPEC and the Integration of FATA” with particular emphasis on what possible benefits CPEC offers for the integration of FATA and vice versa.

As a research lead, I developed research protocols and interview guides for a UN-funded research study, entitled, \'Study on the use and effectiveness of Legal Aid\', developed detailed literature review, conducted analysis of individual interview data, developed think case descriptions and analytical report on the use and effectiveness of legal aid services provided to indigent communities in 6 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province. In addition, I trained field staff on application of research tools and protocols as well as collection and management of field data.

Through Legal Aid and by improving representation mechanisms for the poor as well as by increasing state’s capacity to respond to conflicts, the UN programme aims to contribute to peace and stability in the region.

As a graduate research assistant at the Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilizations (ISMC), London, I designed and conducted a field based research on young women’s political participation in Chitral, Pakistan. Based on a qualitative methodology and within the tradition of political ethnography the research used a combination of participant observations, focused group discussions, in depth individual interviews and analysis of secondary data.

The research attempted to analyze the perceptions of young politically active women (18-30 years of age) who participated in the recent local bodies elections held in 2015 in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, of their political participation and engagement against the backdrop of the youth bulge in Pakistan. By engaging in politics at the local level, the research argues, young women politicians engage in decisive ways, influencing political decision making as well as defining what constitutes an optimal political participation ‘beyond the intimate boundaries of home’ at the local level.

As a Research Associate at the newly established Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR), my responsibilities included but were not limited to the following:

• Identify issues for action research in the areas of socioeconomic development, governance and accountability;
• Conduct background research and literature reviews for contractual assignments implemented by CPPR;
• Coordinate with and manage consultants’ time and schedules as per agreed terms and conditions;
• Participate in discussions, reviews and weekly meetings. Update meeting logs and schedules;
• Work closely with partner organizations and finance to ensure smooth delivery of activities and financial consistency;
• Provide input for development of research proposals and draft proposal components as needed;
• Develop work and activity plans;
• Organize and conduct trainings of field teams;
• Any other task assigned by Coordinator or Senior Fellows.

In the given capacity I participated in the planning and execution of the following projects:

• Strengthening Legislative governance in KP, Citizen Voice Pakistan, USAID
• Health Need Assessment of Displaced Population in KP, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA
• Advancing Social Accountability agenda in Fragile and Conflict-Affected States, WB

Taught undergraduate students, ‘communication’ including oral communication, report and letter writing based on a predefined course material and English Grammar, developed teaching aid and assessment tools, conducted written examinations, assessed student performance and managed roll call records.
