Main Purpose

Defining, coordinating and monitoring all the IEC( Information, Education, Communication) Health Promotion activities in the project and promoting MSF services according to MSF principles, protocols and standards in order to increase the knowledge of the target population around their health, the support of preventive activities and the collaboration to improve the services




Accountabilities

Defining and updating the HP/IEC strategy and related activities through annual project and budget plan (objectives, target population, campaigns, messages, activities, specific actions, etc.).
Assessing knowledge of the target group on a health risk and analyzing the context (local culture, traditions, habits, health perception) to adapt health activities and support the social mapping (villages, populations, actors), Identifying indicators in order to monitor HP activities results and achievement and using the concrete tools to measure and follow up those activities
Assessing, developing and adapting IEC/HP materials according to the needs of the project. Ensuring content and format have been pre-tested with target groups in order to ensure the adequacy, relevance, full understanding of the messages. Leading focus-group discussions with target groups in order to ensure the adequacy, relevance, broadcasting and full awareness of the messages, ensuring they are worded in a pedagogic manner
Liaising with other relevant actors (national and International NGO’s , authorities) also involved in prevention activities, analyzing interventions and building cooperative relationships and advocacy, in order to enhance the influence of the campaigns and messages and to improve awareness among the targeted population;
Ensuring regular collaboration and coordination with the MSF medical team, to guarantee that the HP is part of medical activities and contribute to the medical objectives of the project
Knowing protocol(s) for Sexually Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and ensuring its application. Identifies possible victims of SGBV and referring them to the medical team for treatment according to protocol(s)
Supervising the IEC/HP team and their activities, in and outside health facilities, reporting difficulties and progress as well as adapting format and content when necessary. Planning and supervising the HR associated processes (recruitment, training, evaluation, development and internal communication) of the IEC / HP staff of the project. This will be done in close coordination with the HR department, the administration manager and project coordinator and according to MSF vision, values and procedures. Ensuring that HP/IEC participates in counseling services when needed, specially including Prevention Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) and Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VTC)
Participating in the monthly reports according to guidelines (SitReps, statistical reports, etc.)

Main Purpose

In close collaboration with the HP IEC Activities Manager, implementing and supervising educational campaigns according to MSF values, standards and procedures in order to increase awareness of the targeted population and to promote prevention and treatment of diseases in the project area






Accountabilities


In close collaboration with the HP manager, participating in the definition and update of the HP/IEC strategy and identifying indicators in order to monitor HP activities, results, and achievements. Supporting the HP manager in organizing and carrying out assessments and research on the impact of HP activities and identifying and reporting the constraints, difficulties or strength points of the HP strategy inside and outside the medical structures in order to reinforce the link between the communities and the project
Providing support in selecting and developing quality pedagogical communication strategies towards the community. Planning information campaigns, including targets, objectives, methods and goals in order to increase awareness among the targeted population.
Informing, according to protocols, community members and identified risk groups (prisons, army, sexual workers, etc.) about health related issues
Organizing health awareness sessions for MSF\'s medical and non-medical staff
Identifying key actors (local authorities, local NGOs, traditional healers, formal or informal authorities) and being the focal point for the networking in order to support the dissemination of health information of the target population, and be the point of reference for the relation and networking with these subjects.
Organizing, training, and supervising the HP team in terms of planning and organizing their work, supporting, evaluating and coaching of personnel, collecting reports and reporting the activities of each health worker and regularly visiting communities that are under his/her responsibility
Supervising, in close collaboration with the HR department, the HR associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
Ensuring cleanliness of IEC (information, education and communication) areas
Collecting and reporting to the medical team any information linked to the health situation of the population and the patient

Main Purpose

Participate in the planning, supervision and coordination of mental health / pycho-social related services in the programme in accordance with MSF standards in order to provide the most appropriate mental health support for patients.






Accountabilities


Participate in the planning, organization and coordination of Mental Health activities, in close collaboration with the Mental Health activity manager and other medical team members, in order to ensure an efficient and effective implementation of the resources needed while maintaining high levels of quality in Mental Health MSF programs and activities.
Coordinates activities of counseling services with other relevant actors and liaises with the local counterparts (like MoH, WHO, ICRC and NGO) on mental health matters, including referral services.
Supervise the daily mental health activities and patient support according to MSF protocols and standards in order to provide the most appropriate support for clients with psycho social needs
Liaise with the other MSF team members of the project.
Supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
Oversee the administrative processes associated with psychosocial functioning.
When needed, give psychological support to patients according to MSF protocols to improve mental health conditions of patients and enhance their functionality.
Compile the data and statistic linked with MH activities and report to the MH activity manager
Offer clinical counselling supervision to mental health counsellors in collaboration with the Mental Health Activity Manager.
Ensure the patient’s related information is kept confidential

I had responsibly and successfully planned and implemented the harm reduction project in different districts of Punjab and Sindh. This program funded by Global Fund and main component was to establish comprehensive treatment of HIV/ Aids patients. Other key objectives were to draw effective approach to provide excellent outreach services to PWID (people with injecting drug user).
Achievements:
ü Successfully implemented program advocate and lobby to government, to activate provincial aids control program, and establish especial care clinic for HIV/AIDS treatment.
ü In association with the UNAIDS different government department, educated about HIV/AIDS and end stigmatization at institutional level.
ü Helped to get released nine Indian fisher boys detained in Karachi; first time in the history of Pakistan, the court has released Indian juveniles;
ü Provided free legal aid to more than 700 needy and poor victims and patient of HIV/AIDS through Panel of Lawyers in more than 40 districts of Pakistan;
ü Organized recreational and educational activities for PWID (people with injecting drug user) and adolescents in majority of prisons of Pakistan; also ran a number of skill development programmes like sewing, tailoring, mobile repairing, electric repairing, washing machine repairing, etc., for them;
ü Organized, designed and supervised more than 100 trainings for Prison Staff, Probation Officers, Police officials and Judicial Officers on harm reduction issues;
ü Developed a training guideline (manual) for police officials on the human rights which is being used by senior training instructors at different police training colleges in Punjab province;
ü In association with Nai Zindgi comprehensive HIV Screening program launched

As a key member of the psychosocial support program, I worked with Director Programs Mental health and psychosocial support program.  Assess the beneficiaries psychological condition by using psychological tools to detect the vulnerable cases and ensure psychological follow up. Ensure all work with clients is confidential and that ethical practices are observed. Assist in development of referral networks between partners implementing GBV and implementation of referral pathways. Participate in conducting trainings for medical and non-medical staff on Mental Health related topics. Develop technical material that supports beneficiaries awareness of the service and relevant mental health related topics. To ensure the representation of the MHPSS program within the communities, including leaders. Participate in the preparation of accurate reports for all Psycho-social related activities.
Achievements:
1) Mental health psychosocial services integrated with child protection program. Beneficiaries matching grant program has been introduced with beneficiaries centered approach.
2) Strong referral mechanism supported long term treatment for psychiatric treatment.
3) Psycho-education awareness program initiative. Crisis intervention unit established for armed conflict areas, counseling helpline launched for victim of violence.
4) Street children counseling program started for victim of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
5) Provide technical assistance for victim of acid survivors through acid survival foundation.
