Being a Metallurgy Engineer, I am passionate to work as a QA/QC Engineer steel fabrication industry where I can put my metallurgical knowledge in the growth of company. During graduation I participated in different volunteer projects and was the active member of Materials Chapter Punjab University (MCPU). I did internship at Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) Lahore. during graduation.
Now a days I am working as an internee QA/QC Engineer at IKAN Engineering Services (pvt) ltd. Lahore where not only I gained technical knowledge but also learnt about team working, leadership, management and problem solving skills.
Ikan Engineering Services is a leading steel fabrication and manufacturing enterprise in Pakistan, mainly involved in fabricating LPG Bowsers, Reactor Vessels, Pressure Vessels of all kinds, Telecommunication Towers, Sign Boards, Truss Structures, etc.
While doing internship at IKAN Engineering Services, I worked with dedication, responsibility and interest. Different procedures and processes that I learnt at the industry are briefly described below:
Learned about different welding techniques i-e SMAW, GTAW, Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), etc. and their specific applications.
Preparation of Quality inspection plan (QIP), PQR, WPS, Weld matrix etc.
Inspection of manufacturing of Pressure Vessels, LPG Tanks, Water Storage Tanks, different steel structures etc.
Inspection of incoming Material, Marking, Fit up, Final Visual Dimension Inspection.
Learned about all the machining Processes i-e Turning, Drilling, Milling, Cutting, Marking, Hole Punching, knurling etc.
Learned about different Destructive Tests i-e Mechanical testing (Tensile Testing, Bend and Impact test) and Non-Destructive Tests (NDT) i-e Dye Penetration Test (DPT), Ultrasonic Test, Radiographic Test (RT), Hydrostatic test, Pneumatic test etc.
Basic understanding of ASME Codes (Sec IIA, IIC, Sec V, Sec VIII Div. 1, Sec IX) and API 510.
Familiar with HSE rules and regulations
Performed different destructive and non-destructive tests on different metals and alloys i-e Tensile test, Impact test, Hardness Test, Ultrasonic test, Dye penetration test, Chemical analysis, Metallography, etc.
