National Financial Literacy Program for Youth – NIBAF (November 2019 -- October, 2020)
Worked with NIBAF as Associate, Outreach and Implementation. My main responsibilities included:
• Develop the schedules of trainings in 54 districts.
• Mobilization of trainers for smooth conduct of the planned trainings.
• Dealing and creating liaison with the local institutions and departments to involve them in the planned trainings.
• Looked after the logistic arrangements and dispatch of the required material for the trainings.
• Preparation of final pay-off to trainers, based on their time input in the trainings and ensuring they are timely paid by the finance department.
• Was also responsible for the social media show casing -- appropriate posts before, during and after the trainings.
<div><p><span lang="EN-GB">As Program Manager, I organized and managed a team of 40 people to survey 2,864 BISP beneficiaries to design the Financial Literacy Program for the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) in 10 districts: Kasur, Rajanpur, Badin, Khairpur, Diamer, Neelum, Lasbella, Quetta, Upper Dir. D.I.Khan The project's overall goal is to assess BISP beneficiaries' current level of digital financial literacy and build their capacity to significantly increase access and usage of digital financial services, thereby promoting financial inclusion and assisting women to contribute more constructively to society. We performed 100 focus group discussions and 300 individual interviews in 10 Sindh districts for this research</span></p></div>
The 3-day Enterprise Development training of 20 PWD’s
<div><p><span lang="EN-GB">As a Co-Trainer with Ma'am Shahnaz Kapadia, Rahat led a 3-day enterprise development training that initiated a select group of participants "Person with Disabilities" (PWDs) to key enterprise concepts such as identifying and screening opportunities, mobilizing resources, setting up and implementing a business, and taking actions to grow the business. We covered four major topics throughout this course. Entrepreneurial Leadership, Business Planning and Management, Digitalization, Financial Planning, and Management Participants are exposed to and linked to significant organizations and individuals, as well as the resources they give to enhance enterprises, such as SMEDA, TDAP, SPB-Banking Services Corporation, DARAZ, and business development service providers, during this program. They are also linked to factory owners, wholesalers, retailers, and male and female resource people in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Lahore, and Karachi for B2B (Business 2 Business) connections</span><span lang="EN-GB">.</span></p></div>
Consultation Workshop on Scoping Exercise for Economic Development of Women
<div><p><span lang="EN-GB">Conducted as a team member a one-day Consultation Workshop on 14 April 2022, in Peshawar as an integral part of the “Scoping Exercise for Economic Development of Women-owned or Women-managed Firms in Greater Western Peshawar” under the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) Project, funded by World Bank. Around 70 diverse and highly relevant stakeholders from Government, Civil Society Organizations, and the Private Sector actively participated in the workshop and provided inputs to further enhance the survey instruments, and list policies, programs, and projects that can directly contribute to this Study.</span></p></div>
“Scoping Exercise for Economic Development of Women-Owned or Women-Managed
<div><p><span lang="EN-GB">As team members on this project, we develop a survey questionnaire for industries/SMEs and women working there; women home-based workers, and women entrepreneurs to map the situation of existing women entrepreneurs and SMEs so that a strategy for their economic development and integration throughout the Greater Peshawar area and Khyber district, including SEZs, can be devised. This KPEC project was sponsored by the World Bank and carried out by the KPEC PMU. In this project, we conducted a survey and expert interviews with SBP, the Social Welfare Department of KPK, Akhuwat, Durshal, the Planning & Development Department, the Technical Educational & Vocational Training Authority, the National Incubation Center, Peshawar (NIC), the Labour Department, the Women Chamber of Commerce Peshawar, and the KP Commission on the Status of Women to learn about the projects they have undertaken for women. We also held two consultation workshops on "Scoping Exercise for Economic Development of Women-Owned or Women-Managed Firms in Greater Western Peshawar."</span></p></div>

<div><p><span lang="EN-GB">As a program coordinator, I conducted an assessment study of the Technical and Vocational Training (TVST) and Enterprise Development (ED) components of the six-year, EU-funded SUCCESS Program (2015–2021), which has been implemented by RSPN and three of its member RSPs (NRSP, SRSO, and TRDP) in eight districts of Sindh Province since 2015. These districts are Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Dadu, Jamshoro, and Matiari This study's objective is to assess how TVST and ED interventions have affected the lives of SUCCESS recipients and to determine whether and how this has resulted in their social, economic, and political empowerment. This evaluation will take place in 8 districts and assess the degree to which output and outcome level results have been attained, the degree to which these are in line with the overall goals and objectives of the program, as well as any unintended outcomes and lessons learned for any future programming.</span></p></div>

I was instrumental in developing the training material and module particularly related to Digitalization for the training roll-out in said 7 districts. I was also part of the team who developed “Learning Management System” for the on-line training of strivers. Managed the smooth conduct of trainings in 7 districts and ensured timely receipt of deliverables by the associates and trainers. I was also part of the training team who conducted the Training of Trainers (ToT) of 54 trainers from seven districts. Also, directly conducted 6 trainings of Mobilink Microfinance Bank beneficiaries on Digitalization under this CARE Project.</span></p>

<p><span lang="EN-US">As part of the program, planned and led the Market Exposure Visit and Market Creation Exercise for strivers in Multan. A business exposure visit and market creation exercise in Multan was sponsored by Care International in Pakistan, with the support of the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth. The exposure visit and training were organized and facilitated by Mera Maan Pvt. Ltd. In this exposure visit, 28 women entrepreneurs from Karachi, Hyderabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Multan and Islamabad / Rawalpindi were linked to weavers, wholesalers, and dealers, allowing them to consider business diversification, value addition, and linkages with business networks. </span></p></div>

Over six months, the project facilitated the establishment of three Naukri Ya Karobar Centres that successfully assisted about 250 youth in finding jobs and 50 youth in starting their business. </span></p></div>

<p><span lang="EN-US">Lead consultant for a market study of post-COVID19 relevant trades in five Districts of Balochistan under the TEACH project supported by the International Rescue Committee. The assignment also required the development of a District wise implementation strategy to support 9,000 out of school girls through specific programme inputs. </span></p></div>

I was involved in logistic arrangements, mobilization of participants and trainers, and timely collection and reporting of deliverables. </span></p></div>

<p><span lang="EN-US">For UN Women, supervised and monitored a four-day business training for 120 women home-based workers was held. Home-based workers from Sialkot and Multan Districts participated in a four-day course designed to teach them the fundamentals of business while also assisting them in honing in on their personal business talents. The market survey’s insights aided these women in developing their business plans. </span></p></div>

Safe and Informed migration -Community Based Migrant Changemakers

<p>Mera Maan has piloted a program to improve the last mile connectivity concerning safe and informed migration in Pakistan. In its pilot phase, the model advocated the identification, development and eventual sustainability of Community Based Migrant Changemakers, who had been trained as business development service providers and subsequently oriented, guided, mentored and linked 10,000 potential labour migrants so that they may remain risk-free, and undertake legal and safe migration.</p></div>
