Mujahid Officers Training Academy. Trained 55 Mujahd officers as a special task in 1999-2000. Taught academic military subjects. Trained officers are now Majors in Pakistan Army.

Major Projects Undertaken
Pakistan Military Academy. Furnishing of 4th Pakistan Military Academy Kakul Abbottabad. This Project was inaugurated by COAS of Pakistan Army and Saudi Arabia.
o ISPR New Building. Provision/installation of Retractable motorized seating system (first time in Pakistan) in ISPR Multiple Hall. Furnishing of new building. It was inaugurated by COAS along with all 3 stars.
Mujahid Officers Training Academy. In 1999-2000 established a Mujahid Officers Training Academy on the line of Pakistan Military Academy. Project was undertaken single handedly and ensure proper planning, implementation, management and monitoring of the project. Huge financial discipline was also ensured. Due to the short available time all the training requirement was ensued.
o Special Projects. In the GHQ (details cannot be mentioned). Improvement of office Quality of life of GHQ Officers.
Audit Objections. Settled millions of Rupees audit objections of GHQ through attending PAC meetings and other audit authorities.

Rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Personnel-IDPs

In the FATA area the division was assigned the responsibility to clear the area from the terrorists. To do this there was a requirement to take out trapped locals from the area. The plan was conceived, various resources were allocated like; transportation, living shelters and food items for evacuating locals to the internal displaced personnel (IDPs) camps, hired houses etc. To ensure that no terrorist should accompany a fool proof security mechanism was evolved through National Data Base and Registration Authority (NADRA). As an alternative a strong network of recognition separate for male and female was evolved. Situation was continuously assessed in coordination with the FATA Secretariat, Khyber Pakhtunistan government, UN agencies and NGOs. Liaised and coordinated with local heads, Frontier Post, levies and police and UN offices in order to complete the operation on a positive node. Brief various UN Senior Officials on security assessments and on the progress of projects in the region. Mobilized resources for restoration and management of regional civic amenities. Allocated logistics support and plan Self Defense Training for the local communities against insurgents. Provided inputs on policy reports on the gender and protection mechanisms used in conflict ridden areas. Drafted memos and concept papers as required by the military and civil top executives. Arranged various awareness campaigns in IDPs camps. Liaised and coordinated various activities of International NGOs, UN agencies, Federal Government ministries and Army with the help of provincial government representatives. Monitored various livelihood projects like; construction of roads, provision of clean drinking water, respectable earning projects, being run by the Army with the help of government and UN agencies in the area cleared by our troops. Provided damage assessment reports for formulation of rehabilitation and reintegration plans at government level.

As chief intelligence officer was a requirement to have close coordination among number of intelligence agencies including military and civilians in fight against terrorists. The success of guerrilla warfare depends upon the correct and timely intelligence input, particularly against terrorists in which it is very difficult to know about friends and foe. A strong network was formed to get timely information in peace location as well as in the porous area of FATA. At both the locations hang around security network was formed. It was required to keep the daily activities, including their movement, activities, assess future actions and suggest future course of action to the general officers. To do this a data base was created to establish their network, chain of command, logistic support, sympathizers, victimized and supporters to know the dual agents. A strong counter communication network was also established to know timely information. Required infrastructure was designed, planned, and placed well before the operation in the frontier region. (2) The historical perspectives, habits, culture was made well conversant to the troops participating in the operation. (3) Due to well netted and efficient intelligence input the operation was completed one fourth less time than planned.(4) The data base was established to know the activities, chain of command/ hierarchy and future course of action, this action proved to the source of success of the operation. (5) Due to accurate intelligence input own causalities were negligible as compared to the previous operation held in the porous border area between Pakistan and Afghanistan. (6) The top most management called that as the text book operation due to the correct, timely and comprehensive operation.

1. Ensured the implementation of the UN mandate in United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC- 30 Nov 1999 - 30 June 2010) from April 2009 to May 2010 as Chief of Joint Operations Centre (JOC). 2. SRSG appreciated the tasked performed by the Chief JOC during one year because he mentioned in one of the SMT meeting that “I was always updated precisely and timely where I was”. 3. Attended the UN Course on Humanitarian Law from United Nations Institute for Training and Research- Peace Operation Training Institute, in August 2009 which helped to know that humanitarian law is a set of rules which seek, for humanitarian reasons, to limit the effects of armed conflict and the law applies only once a conflict has begun, and then equally to all sides regardless of who started the fighting. It helped to correlate the theoretical knowledge on ground during the visits in remote areas of DRC. 4. UN Course in Peacekeeping and International Conflict Resolution was attended and learnt about the basic understanding of the Conflict Resolution, its application, both theoretically and practically, to peacekeeping intervention in contemporary international conflicts which helped to evaluate the existing situation of DRC with the ultimate aim to help the top management in decision making. 5. To know about the understanding of the genesis, origin, evolution, functioning, and effectiveness of UN peacekeeping during the Cold War like Arab-Israeli conflict, missions in; Korea, Lebanon, the Congo, India and Pakistan, the Middle East, Cyprus and Africa. This information was obtained after attending the UN course about the History of Peacekeeping 1945-87. It helped to correlate the previous and existing mission in Congo.

Performed the duties of inspector and evaluated the formations in the biannual inspection keeping in view their operational role and important duties during peace. They were tested on ground to check actual worth of their weapons, equipment, human resource etc. Evaluated 100 enemy documents and 150 own documents and basing on that decision makers made comprehensive response to counter the adversaries. 2. Updated and evaluated 100 military books and training regime was also changed after incorporating the latest updates. 3. Carried out research and evaluation on the latest artillery weapon systems of the world’s armies to meet the future challenges of Pakistan Army. 4. Performed the duties to inspect and evaluate the 10 formation headquarters being in grade 19 officer. 5. Carried out and checked the fitness of 20 formation headquarters and units those were required to be inducted in the operational area (operating in the Federally Administrated Tribal Area-FATA area.) 6. Being legal officer in general headquarters created the data base and programmed it in such a manner so that data can be accessed with a single click.

Assessment and recovery strategy was adopted and implemented after the 2005 earthquake, keeping in view the following points; rapid rebuilding of people’s livelihood, Independence and self-sufficiency, subsidiary and decentralization, focus on the most vulnerable and socially-disadvantaged groups, such as children, women, and the disabled, secure development gains and progress in poverty reduction, Restoring capacities to manage the recovery process, transparency and accountability to avoid the creation of new disaster risks to encourage engagement of private sector and civil society and coordinated and coherent approaches to recovery.3.While addressing the post earthquake issue following steps were ensured; risk identification, emergency Preparedness, risk reduction, capacity building and risk transfer mechanisms. 4. Supervised construction of 30 schools, 25 basic health units, 50 small bridges, 1500 houses in the area of responsibility. 5. Acted as chief protocol officer during visit of president of Pakistan in Kashmir at the capital of Azad Kashmir during 23006 and 2007. Procured and provided books to the rehabilitated/reconstructed schools. Had rescued the causalities e.g. four dead bodies and 5 injured from the second helicopter of President of Pakistan General Parvais Musharaf in 2007 from Gari Duppata near Muzaffrabad the capital city of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

1. Performed as operation officer as part of Pakistan contingent in UN Mission Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) which was by the Security Council in October 1999, to cooperate with the Government and the other parties in implementing the Lome Peace Agreement and to assist in the implementation of the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration plan. Planned basing on the plan received from UNAMSIL Headquarters, evaluated, vetted operational aspects related to the mandate of the Pakistan Artillery -2 at Daru, Koidu, Kailahun and Buedu. The safety, security, protection and direct contact with the Sierra Leonean were done as part of the duty. Number of emergency projects like; construction of small bridges, provision of shelters, repair/ maintenance of houses on self help basis. Movement of the troops was planned dually supported logistically. Planned, evaluated, and executed, the move back from Hastings to Pakistan (Karachi-Lahore) involving, road, air and sea movement. 2. Launched and ensured implementation of ‘Winning Hearts and Minds’ projects like, provision of clean drinking water (20 projects), helping them to repair 30 small bridges, provided shelters to 40 houses. 3. Had close coordination with the United Nations Headquarters and NGOs operating in the area and provided the help/assistance, protection as and when required to them. Drivers were given maximum practical training on the left hand driving practice because in Pakistan there is right hand driving on the lines of UK. 6. All the actions were taken as per Security Council resolution 1289 of 7 February 2000, the mandate of UNAMSIL was to provide security at key locations and Government buildings, in particular in Freetown, important intersections and major airports, including Lungi airport, facilitated the free flow of people, goods and humanitarian assistance along specified thoroughfares. Provided security in and at all sites of the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration programme.

7000 troops were trained in the formation of corps. As training was the basic thing to success in the war, therefore, to complete this task required planning in the shape of training notes, training instructions were prepared. Required resources in the shape of funds, petroleum products for all types of vehicles, ration products were managed. All types of weapons, vehicles and equipment were checked and inspected before moving to the training areas. As training was multiple facets therefore emphasis was given on physical, handling of weapons and equipment live firing, crossing of all types of obstacles. Troops were trained to move on foot, vehicles, tanks and guns. Training was also imparted in all types of weather conditions, in the field and in the garrisons. 1. Issued 30 training and operational instructions to the army headhunters and then to the executing formations and units. 2. Coordinated 40 training visits of higher officials including prime minister of Pakistan Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and senior army officials like Deputy Chief of Staff General Muhammad Yousaf Khan in the field firing ranges. 3. Moved the 3500 troops to participate in the battle inoculation to participate in the live firing and moving in the actual war scenario. 4. Organized 20 seminars at different locations and covering different training related aspects. 5. Conducted and briefed at the firing ranges to the visiting senior officials including prime mister of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff. 6. Coordinated and integrated training to the offensive and defensive troops. 7. Prepared daily, weekly, monthly and annual training programmes and ensured its implementation. 8. A comprehensive training evaluation system was introduced for self and team evaluation.

During the anti dacoits operation troops were deployed at the isolated areas coupled with the continuous threat of these nefarious peoples. 21. In the elections troops were deployed to ensure the transparency during the elections. 22. They were moved with complete boarding and lodging facilities. In the anti dacoit operation troops were logistically supported.
