A diligent and self-motivated professional acquired Master degree in International Relations & done Graduation in Law (L.L.B) with an overall experience of 20 years. I served at grassroots level from Legal Counselor to Program Manager level positions. My key functional areas include, program and project development and planning, management, coordination and implementation, capacity building, liaising, lobbying and advocacy. I have been involved in projects funded by UNHCR, Trocaire, Norwegian Church Aid, UNFPA, International Rescue Committee and Global Affairs Canada. The sectoral scope of my work includes, Protection/Afghan Refugee, Gender Based Violence, livelihood, human rights, women and girl’s rights.
Currently, I am working for IRC and managing UNHCR funded “Protecting Afghan Refugees through widening their access to services, assure quality of programming” project. The project is being implemented in 43 Afghan Refugee Camps spread across 19 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa- Pakistan.
The role overall primarily required to act as provincial focal point and ensure program interventions are in conformity with IRC strategy and CP/GBV Minimum Standards. In collaboration with the Head of Office-KP and CP/GBV leads, develop close coordination with Cluster Managers, partnership and communication team, MEAL unit, Finance Unit, HRD and other support units, develop tools, followed by project, monitoring, spending and procurement plans for better financial and project management.
Undertake regular field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify technical quality issues and/or other implementation issues, provide solutions and implement modifications as required. Ensure integration of CP with GBV and other sectors, including but not limited to Education, Health, Livelihood and WASH etc. Participate in all grant opening and program development, evidences, researches and capacity building for staff and partners, mid-term and closing meetings. Contribute to IRC and donor reports as per set schedules (monthly, quarterly, and annually). Build strong relationships with relevant government departments, and actors, relevant stakeholders and partners, establishing IRC as a key factor in CP/GBV. Represent IRC in relevant stakeholder meetings at provincial level such as CP/GBV Sub-Working Group, Case Management Meetings/Conferences, etc. Support partner/s in developing referral mechanisms in collaboration with partners, other NGOs, UN agencies and relevant government departments.
I worked for Hashoo Foundation as Project Coordinator and managed the UNHCR funded “Livelihood Improvement and Vocational Education (LIVE)” project being implemented in 08 Afghan Refugees Villages in five districts (Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand, Swabi and Buner) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The role overall required project coordination, financial management and implementation at field level, extend technical support to project staff, review weekly monthly and quarterly workplans. To represent the foundation and coordinate with Govt departments and non-government organizations, institutions and government technical and vocational centers, technical education and vocational training (TEVET), Trade Testing Board (TTB) at district and provincial level. Selection of Afghan Refugee youth for Technical Diploma Courses and internees for job placement. Monitoring and compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Achievements & Accomplishments: Re-organize the project and staff plannings. Increased 100% visibility of intervention on social media. Accomplish distribution of toolkits among beneficiaries of artisanal skills, value chain and 6 months technical diploma courses. Improve financial management and ensure 100% budget utilization.
I served PVDP and lead (i) Aagahi, Challenging GBV (ii) Local Actions for Combating GBV and (iii) “Women and Girls’ health and safety needs are addressed and met during COVID-19 in 2021-22 in Pakistan” projects. Interventions were implemented in selected UCs of district Peshawar and Swat and were funded by Trocaire, Norwegian Church Aid and Global Affairs Canada and International Rescue Committee (IRC).
The role required program/project development, management, identify new funding opportunities, liaison with funding agencies. Supervise development of quality Concept Notes, Proposals, create program/project budget, case studies, lessons learnt and to document best practices from program and project reviews. Coordinates regularly with project staff and stakeholders engaged in project and extend technical support. Lead capacity building of local bodies representatives, Police, religious leaders and members of advocacy groups.
Represent, coordinate and build network and coalition with Govt and Non-Govt departments, institution at district, provincial levels. Establish and functionalize Women Welfare Centers and Women and Girls Safe Spaces. Supervise SRH/GBV case workers. Approve project staff weekly, monthly and quarter plans. Review, compile and submit monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual progress reports.
Achievements & Accomplishments: Introduce GBV interventions in central Swat and successfully implemented the project. Ensured funding for the projects. Conceptualize and compiled GBV Data Monitoring Report at Swat level. Launch first EVAW/G alliance in the than Provincially Administered Triable Areas Contributed. Trained more than 430 police officials, local body representatives and religious leaders. Included GBV/SRH interventions in organization strategic plan. Develop Gender/GBV mobilization and program participants safeguarding strategies and policies in coordination with management and funding agencies.
I worked for AWF. Pvt. Ltd a leading consulting firm. The position was based within Trocaire/Caritas Austria, “Challenging GBV Program” team. The role required partnership management with implementing partners in KP and Sindh. In addition to lead and extend technical support to IPs. Identify and influence key strategies, policies and decision making in light of communication and advocacy strategy/outcomes. Review IP’s project, extend technical support to IPs in developing project/program concept notes, proposals project/program budgets and to provide recommendations to the AWF management.
Participate and support IPs in developing communication and behavior change, advocacy, social mobilization and child safeguarding strategies and policies. Support IPs in building relationship with Women Parliamentary Caucuses, key relevant networks, alliances and stakeholders at national and provincial level, in light of Pakistan’s international commitments towards gender equality, women development and empowerment. Lobbying and advocate relevant stakeholders to bring policy and legislative amendments and Child Marriages Restraint Act of 1929, and approval of Domestic Violence Bill in KP.
Achievement and Accomplishments: Re-organize and extend support to IPs in developing project concept notes, proposals, project budgets, foresee communication and advocacy workplan as per program requirements. Review and consolidate IPs quarterly, bi-annual and annual financial and narrative reports. Support partners in developing content for seminar at national and provincial levels, media engagement i.e., transit, print and electronic media, institutional development and capacity building of relevant government departments on Gender, GBV, Human Rights, women and girls’ rights.
I worked for the KPCSW in “Strengthening KPCSW to Advance Women and Girls Rights Project”. Apart from overall project management, the role required to facilitate dialogues and key policy matters, falling within the scope of interventions. Coordinate and establish effective relationships with Women Parliamentary Caucus, relevant commissions, departments, networks, alliances, civil society and organizations working overall on GBV, human rights, women and girl’s child rights.
Extend technical support & inputs to develop curriculum & capacity development of District Committees on the Status of Women. Management of media monitoring & develop indicators for Gender Management Information System (GMIS). Procure services and coordinate with consultants to extend support in identification of reporting mechanism for DCSWs in view of KPCSW mandate. Develop close linkages with the provincial SDGs unit to ensure harmonization and prioritization of the indicators. Lead and provide technical support in developing media & communication, gender mainstreaming and gender inclusion strategies. Review and compile monthly, quarter, bi-annual and annual reports.
Achievement and Accomplishments: Onboard consultants, coordinate and organized event to develop and printed (i) KPCSW Strategic plan 2018-23 (ii) Mapping & capacity assessment of different social services for GBV. (iii) Mapping of policies, legislations, programs and reports against international commitments on SRHR to inform reporting mechanism of CSWS and (iv) KPCSW Annual Progress Report.
I served IMC in “Prevention and Response to Gender Based Violence” project in selected district of KP. The position overall was responsible for management, supervision, reporting and relationship management with project set goals, objectives, indicators and timelines. The specific roles broadly focused around implementation of interagency approach in organizing trainings on GBV issues and response system.
Extend technical support and capacity building of Gender Support Group (GSG) established within each Refugee Villages. Facilitate trainings health staff and partners’ organizations based in refugee villages. Conduct exit interviews, contribute to KAP surveys and regular needs assessments with GBV team and the community to inform GBV training priorities and work plan. Identify and report GBV cases, document success stories, best practices and lesson learned during implementation. Facilitate community in registering complaints through Community Based Complaint Mechanism (CBCM). Assist in developing IEC and behavioral change communication (BCC) materials.

I worked for AMAL in “Mainstreaming Alternative Dispute Resolution for equitable justice in KP and Punjab” funded by the Asia Foundation-Pakistan. The position required overall management, supervision, reporting in line with project set goal, objectives, indicators and timelines agreed.
Supervise and developed project communication, gender and social mobilization strategies, develop and implement monitoring and evaluation tools to ensure effective implementation at field level. Coordination and communication with stakeholders, law firms, institutions supporting ADR. Extend technical support to project team in designing and developing the training manuals. Conduct trainings, manage and build capacity of project team. Review and compile monthly and quarterly project plannings, review and progress meetings with project team, followed by quarter, bi-annual and annual progress reporting.

Initially, I served the Trust as Legal Coordinator in Mera Ghar, Crisis Interventions, Response, Prevention and Advocacy Program for women and Girl Child survivors of GBV. I was promoted first to first Senior Program Coordinator, Project Manager and lastly appointed as Program Manager. The role overall required to lead the crisis intervention team, project/program development, management, proposed and sanction amendments to the interventions, as required. Allocation, approval and disbursement of project budgets/grants to IPs at district/UC levels. To extend technical support to Mera Ghar Program associated components and projects.
Represent the Trust at Provincial, National and International level, coordinate and maintain relationships with financial institutions and donor agencies. To supervise, review, compile and submit monthly, quarter, bi-annual and annual progress reports.
Achievements & Accomplishments: Lead delegation during capacity building exposure visit to Bangladesh Multi-Sectoral Program on Violence Against Women. Supervise and develop GBV Client Management Database for Shelter, Psycho Social and Legal Support case management. Established task forces to review the existing provincial and national laws related to women and girls. Conduct project baseline study and need assessment. Proposed and undertake novel initiatives related to Police capacity building in Peshawar, Mardan and Noshehra on GBV, human and women rights.
Before promotion to the Team Leader, Staff & Office Administration position, I served NRC, Information, Counseling and Legal Aid (ICLA) project as Legal Counselor. I lead Mobile Team as team leader and later promoted to “Head of Sub-Office” position. The role required to lead, supervise and manage Sub-Office at Dir lower. To coordinate and represent the council with external agencies falling in the Sub-Office area of responsibility. Monitor implementation of activities at field level. To ensure NRC polices, guidelines and procedures are followed and implemented. To conduct staff appraisal and to contribute and coordinate, quarter, bi- annual and annual progress reports to Country Coordinator.
In wake of “Earthquake Emergency Response Project in 2005”. I worked on a shot terms assignment as Team Leader and lead, supervise and manage Emergency Team in Bisham-Shangla. Conduct need assessment. Supervise distribution of food items and non-food items amongst effected individuals and families. Coordinate and represent the council with humanitarian agencies in the area.
Achievements & Accomplishments: Successfully establish ICLA field office at Chakdara, Dir Lower. Re-organize field team plannings and lead field visits to Refugee Village in Chitral. Lead field team during cross border coordination meetings in Afghanistan. Supervise team during earthquake 2005 during physical assessment of houses and distribution of FIs and NFIs in earthquake affected areas.
Before promotion to the position of “Head of Sub-Office” I served the council as Legal Counselor at Taimargara in Dir lower. The position required to lead the NRC’s Information, Counseling and Legal Aid [ICLA] team at Chakdara. The position required to supervise and manage the Sub-Office and field staff, to build network, coordination and represent the council with external agencies falling in the Sub-Office area of responsibility. The position also responsible for monitoring and implementation of the project activities in the project areas and to ensure that NRC polices, guidelines and procedures are property followed during project implementation. To conduct yearly appraisal of staff and to contribute and coordinate, quarter, bi- annual and annual progress reports to Country Coordinator.
I started my carrier with ICMC as Senior Lawyer in the UNHCR funded Advice and Legal Aid Centre (ALAC)Project. The role overall required supervision of information and legal counselors. To coordinate with legal representative and pro-bono lawyers for affective court proceedings in administrative, civil, criminal and family cases related to Afghan Refugees.
The position further required to develop close coordination and visit district prisons and Police in order to identify, register legal cases and to work for the protection of ill-fated Afghan Refugees languishing behind bars. Review, coordinate and contribute to monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports and progress review meeting headed by UNHCRs. Represent the commission in local, national and international NGO’s and government department.
