Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing the operations of the back end technology infrastructure for the University. Main roles include planning, monitoring and controlling processes & IT functions in accordance with the annual budgets, to achieve optimal levels of quality and service, coordinating with stakeholders, assigning roles and responsibilities for the department, summarizing and communicating the progress of department according to the plan.
• Maintain the availability of critical communication tools like emails, phones, internet connection that eases the communication between staff, management and learners.
Initiate, maintain and improve the university business continuity plan related to information technology, including a disaster recovery plan, and perform constant test recoveries to ensure applicability.
• Enforce best security standards that include hardware and software security systems, Antivirus, and physical security like Access controls. Also providing secure local & remote access to all University computing resources.
• Manage the maintenance of virtual systems and ensure its availability, also monitor the innovation of virtual technologies and provide plans to upgrade current ones if applicable.
• Enable other technology sections by providing them constant support and adequate hardware and software resources, and provide them with testing environment.
• Operate and communicate IT standards, policies and procedures pertinent to information technology for the ISMS.
• Ensure effective section performance through the selection, development, deployment and motivation of competent staff.
• Recruit, train, motivates, lead and retain personnel in the discharge of their duties.
