• Act as technical leader for Client's Operations in the development, implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of HSE processes to prevent prevention of work-related injury, ill health and pollution to environment
• Developing and implementing HSE policies, processes, procedures, plans, objectives, risk assessments, environment impact assessments and safe systems of work.
• Support the process of obtaining and maintaining the relevant HSE approvals and accreditations
• Developing, leading and promoting a positive HSE culture and conducting HSE trainings
• Monitoring, measurement, analysis and performance evaluation of HSE aspects
• Establishing, implementing and maintaining Emergency preparedness and response process

Job Responsibilities

Implementation of Occupational Health and Safety management system (OH&S MS) in Telecom and other projects, in accordance with OHSAS 18001

Ensure successful audits of OH&S Management system and subsequent follow-up

Regular follow-up with stake holders to ensure effective implementation of Objectives & Targets and other elements of OH&S MS.

Coordinate with relevant departments and staff to ensure implementation of controls relevant to HSE standards

Conduct and organize awareness sessions and trainings on OH&S

Ensure timely reporting, investigation and tracking of OH&S related accidents

Review scope of new projects and incorporate HSE related requirements.

Responsible to develop and maintain repository of applicable OH&S standards, laws and legal requirements and map them in checklists etc.

Preparation of reports, presentations and proposals on regular basis

Assigning, reviewing and approving Task specific inspections and audits on INTELEX to Evaluate the effectiveness of OH&S management system
Identification and evaluation of the HSE hazards and risks relevant to the construction project through regular coordinated site inspections
Assessing and approving contractor(s) Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS)
Attend regular site, technical and progress meetings
Assisting in project specific emergency preparedness & response plans and evaluating the effectiveness of the emergency response plans
Evaluate the levels of compliance of subcontractors to the project specific environmental,  health and safety plans and client specifications
Oversee the reporting and investigation of project related incidents and use of trends analysis to identify system deficiencies and incident trends, outline relevant improvements

Reviewing and updating the applicable Compliance Obligations in the legal register related to Environment, Health & Safety. Measuring and monitoring significant aspects of DDWD-EMS/OH & S by Planning and Conducting Measuring and monitoring of environmental aspects/safety risk as per the Legislative requirements/severity of impact Planning and conducting HSE Audits Vendor pre assessment and compliance reporting Assisting Integrated Management System team during external certification audits and for applying for HSE awards Establishing waste management (waste collection, segregation, recycling) and waste minimization programs Developing and submitting Environment Impact Assessment for new projects to obtain Environment clearance from legal authorities Establishing Environment Responsibility Strategy 2016-2021 in line with UAE Vision 2021 and aligning DDWD departments
