• Duties and accomplishments

As District Health Communication Support Officer (DHCSO) core team member at District Emergency Operational Cell, I have been playing a professional who work in the field of public health and is responsible for supporting health communication efforts at the district level.
My role is to facilitate effective communication between health departments, partners organizations, healthcare providers, IEC material developing and supply, logistics demand and distributions, Social Media and Electronic media engagements Monitoring & Evaluations.
The main responsibilities of a DHCSO includes:

• Health Promotion: Developing and implementing health promotion campaigns and programs to raise awareness about specific health issues, such as disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and healthcare services available in the district.
• Information Dissemination: Ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of health information to the public, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders. This includes using various communication channels such as social media, websites, brochures, and community outreach programs.
• Media Relations: Establishing and maintaining relationships with local media outlets, including newspapers, radio stations, and television channels. They may write press releases, arrange interviews, and provide information to journalists to promote health-related news and initiatives.
• Community Engagement: Collaborating with community organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to understand local health needs and preferences. DHCSOs may organize community meetings, workshops, and focus groups to gather feedback and involve the community in health decision-making processes.
• Health Education: Developing educational materials, presentations, and workshops to deliver health-related information to different target audiences. This can include conducting training sessions for healthcare providers on effective health communication techniques.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Collecting and analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of health communication activities and campaigns. DHCSOs may use surveys, interviews, and other evaluation methods to measure the reach and impact of their communication efforts and share the detail report with higher authorities.
• Crisis Communication: Being a DHCSO prepared to respond to health emergencies or outbreaks by providing accurate and timely information to the public, dispelling rumors, and coordinating communication efforts with other agencies involved in emergency response.
• DHCSO plays a vital role in promoting public health by effectively communicating health information, raising awareness, and engaging the community to make informed decisions about their health specially focused on children and pregnant women’s,
• Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with government and other stake holders, service providers in the development of Communication plan, local based influencers and implementation of the effective campaign plan
• Training Need Assessment TNA Bases planning: DHCSO develop the Training plan based on the TNA for the FLWs/UCMOs/Vaccination Teams to meet the set objectives and outcomes

Work with the PM, PO and Director by providing technical support in the
implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the project activities.
▪ Responsible to ensure the monitoring and evaluation of the activities as per defined
objectives and set targets mentioned in project proposal and log frame.
▪ Identifying the key performance questions and parameters for monitoring project
performance and comparing it to the project targets. Design the format for such
performance reports.
▪ Prepare formats, surveys and studies for the project staff for evaluating project effects
and impacts.
▪ Collects and analyzes data for the Situation Analysis, implementation, monitoring and
evaluation of Prisoner’s project activities at concerned Prison facilities.
▪ Analyzes program implementation reports and evaluate against established program
recommendations and plans of action.
▪ Prepare tables, graphs and other statistical data and reports outcomes.
▪ Collect data from the project staff and use it for reporting and evaluation of the project
activities.
▪ Verify the data through the field / monitoring visits.
▪ Maintaining and Updating of all data record regarding the project.
▪ Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
