Managing the Finance team of 15 (Reporting, Budgeting, Treasury, Payroll, AR/AP, Tax) with a focus on controlling and improving all aspects of the P&L: top & bottom line, fixed costs, variable costs, contribution margins, KPIs, etc.
Managing all accounting operations, Ensure timely & accurate financial closings; Management and statutory reporting.

Effectively reduced the cash conversion cycle from 125 to 54 days by negotiated contracts & efficient inventory mgmt.
Executed cost cutting strategies to shed extra fixed cash costs by 36% (36mn vs 56mn) with austerity measures.
Identified alternate revenue streams having Rs.300mn p.a. impact; Assessed Sales Tax refund of Rs525mn for claims.
Revised the credit policy to minimize exposure on exports, and bring local receivables down by 30% in a year.

Responsibilities/Accomplishments:
Role: P&L Management

Proficiently delivered responsibilities as P&L controller of 15 operating sites across country, including developing & managing budgets, costing analysis, management reporting, dashboard & segment reporting, monitoring KPIs.
Performed as JV-CFO of ‘O&M’ projects, and explaining financial & operational performance to higher management.
Also worked on strategy and P&L management of high-paced ‘startup projects’ i.e. Online Travel Agency (Checkin.Pk), Master franchisees and food brands (TopsyTurvy, CherryBerry, Riwaj), and Video On Demand platform (Starzplay).

Role: Project Finance 

Successfully managed the development phase of 4 sites i.e. Packages Mall, Amanah Mall, Mall of Sialkot, and Giga Mall from the basic and detailed design, procurement, construction and assembly until the final handover of the project.
Conducted Feasibility studies and Capex budgeting; Performed the selection, negotiation & contract awarding process.
Monitored project progress, funds disbursement of Rs525mn, Budget tracking, project closings, and variance analysis.

Deal origination, evaluation & execution of new investment opportunities and rollout growth plans of the company.

Project appraisals of family entertainment centers in major cities of Pakistan with total Capex $100mn.
Accomplished improvement in COGS of Food & Beverages section from 44% to 33% in 3 years of monitoring.
Negotiated real estate contracts with landlords for over 150 cinema screens, totaling $500MM over project life.
Successfully raised new debt financing package of $13MM from OPIC USA after rigorous due diligence procedures.
Achieved milestones by raising equity investment of $18MM from Abraaj Group UAE to facilitate company’s growth.
