PIRBHU LAL (also known as Pirbhu Satyani) belongs to Tharparkar, Sindh, Pakistan. He is Fulbright Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow studied Law and Human Rights in American University, USA and Minority fellow of UN Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights - Geneva where he studied UN Human Rights Mechanisms and Systems. He has a Master in Philosophy and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from University of Sindh, along with 18 years of extensive experience working with national and international organizations. His skills and expertise include strategic planning, project management, disaster management, research, policy advocacy, partnership management, and capacity building. Mr. Satyani has worked on senior positions such as - Regional Head SPO Sindh, Senior Coordinator Save the children, Head of Program National Commission on the Rights of Child, and Regional Expert IDSN. Senior Protection Manager, International Rescue Committee, He has successfully managed and implemented dozens of development projects in various districts of Sindh and Pakistan and supervised 100 plus team. Currently, he has been appointed as Member Sindh/minorities at National Commission on the Rights of Child. Mr. Satyani is author of Book Humain Bhi Jenay Do Plight of Hindu Dalits in Pakistan and participated/ conducted various research studies and managed /implemented various projects on ranges of issues including Gender, child protection, minority rights, child rights, inclusivity/caste discrmination etc. He is a member of subcommittee on minority by Sindh Human Rights Commission and economic committee by Sindh Commission on Status of the women. He is co- founder of Pakistan Dalit Solidarity Network and Child Rights Moment (CRM) Sindh chapter. Ms. Satyani has drafted and submitted stakeholder reports in UN Human Rights Council.
Assisted NCRC to perform following deliverables;1. To assist the NCRC in fulfilling its statutory mandate as per Act 2017.2. Enhance partnership with NCRC donors and act as focal point in line with policies, practices and notifications of the commission.3. Develop monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports for NCRC with agreed time lines and quality parameters.4. Undertake official liaison and correspondence with NCRC stakeholders and governments departments with the consent of the Chairpersons/Secretariat.5. Steer policy research and Legislative Reforms in all the provinces as per mandate and road map of NCRC and signed LOI and agreed work plans with donors.6. Complaint handling and redress of cases of child abuse as per mandate of the commission through an effective referral mechanism/ concerned Government Authorities.7. Steer Violence against Children Surveys, research.8. Capacity building of NHRIs for accountability of child rights.9. Awareness raising as per mandate of NCRC.10. Monitor the compliance of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other instruments signed/ratified by Pakistan and develop reports for onward submission.11. Pursuance of UNICEF-NCRC mandate and signed LoI under the directions and supervision of the chairperson.
Job Description:
As a Regional Coordinator leading the SPO Hyderabad Region Sindh with overall responsibility of regional programme implementation and strategic leadership.
To contribute in development of programme/ campaign concepts, strategies, approaches operational plans and budgets, adhering to SPO policies and procedures.
To contribute towards overall management and quality of the regional programme
Lobbying on policy issues across range of thematic areas within SPO’s framework of action.
To support NC and senior SPO Management in representation of issues at national, regional, international level and other NGO networks.
To facilitate coalition building through engagement with legislatures, policy makers and civil society for policy advocacy and lobbying and facilitating the integration of programme work with policies and advocacy strategies
Ensuring programme quality by developing systems for sharing learning from the programmes through reviews, process documentation and impact assessment as per programme strategy.
Developing policy briefs on priority issues, including outlining social economic and political contexts, poverty and development issues for NC staff, other regional teams, donors and other interested parties.
Managing allies/partnership and funds, conducting research on identified issues, managing partners/allies and providing programmatic input to team.
Facilitating the integration of programme work with policy and advocacy strategies
Take initiatives to highlight programme visibility at national, provincial and district level, also expanding scale and scope of the programme.
Take initiatives to ensure gender mainstreaming in various programme interventions.
Ensure lessons learned are documented and communicated to NC
Management Responsibilities:
To ensure effective people management for smooth functioning of the team with performance objectives settings,
Conducting consultation/assessment of partners related to advocacy key areas

Coordinated Child Rights Movement (CRM), a coalition of NGOs based in Sindh and housed under TRDP.
Advocacy on Sindh child protection authority act, Sindh child marriage restraint act, free and compulsory education ordinance.
Facilitated trainings on child participation and child protection of field staff and at community level with children and their parents.
Worked in UNICEF funded emergency project to TRDP after flood 2010.

· Conducted research on the issue of marginalization of religious minorities through oppressive legislation, social discrimination, and psychological intimidation in Pakistan.
· Advocacy and lobbying with parliamentarians on the issues of religious minorities, caste-based discrimination (Dalit rights) and gender based violence (GBV) in Pakistan.
