Mercy Corps has operated in Pakistan since 1986. Mercy Corps’ work in Pakistan originated from its support to Afghan refugee communities, focused on providing access to water, health improvement and vocational training for the refugee community in Balochistan Province. In recent years, Mercy Corps has expanded both sectoral and geographically throughout the country and is now one of the lead agencies providing health services especially tuberculosis control and maternal, neonatal and child health. It has been a major player in all emergency relief efforts in the country, responding to the earthquake of 2005 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; flooding and earthquake in Baluchistan in 2007 and 2008; and to the Sindh floods of 2010 and 2011. In addition to public health and emergency response, Mercy Corps currently implements programming in the sectors of youth engagement, water/ sanitation, and economic development.

Mercy Corps’ Country Office in Islamabad oversees programs and operations throughout the country and liaises with the Government of Pakistan (GoP) and donors; main area offices include Quetta (Baluchistan) and Lahore (Punjab), while Mercy Corps also currently maintains presence of small program team in Sindh. These offices are staffed by over 250 team members.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
• The Senior Project Officer Trainings and Grants is responsible for day-to-day implementation of project vocational training component implementation in WTTC and GVI for Women Quetta.
• The Senior Project Officer will work closely both with project management and support teams (including finance, administration, and program) in organization to ensure that vocational training component activities at WTTC and GVI Quetta are implemented according to schedule, budget and required quality.
• The Senior Project Officer will assist the Project Director in outlining a strategic plan for the implementation of the project including identifying methods of operation for effective programming and maximum results. He will work closely with the project team as well as government counterparts to ensure proper implementation of activities. He will also ensure that all project vocational training female team maintain and follow weekly work plans and monthly data recording and reporting is completed.

in this regard, October 2023 will be the last working day, and the project will be successfully completed.

Planning, implementation and management of project activities at district level as per project objectives/ scope of work.
Develop structures and processes at the district level for project implementation, human resource managements, training and capacity building.
Remain in close coordination with donor/ partners for day to day activities.
Liaison with the different relevant department.
Support in planning and conducting monitoring and field research activities by MEAL teams.
Provide guidance and support to project team for project requirements.

Planned and designed the overall project i.e., implementation mechanism, caseload etc.
Led the baseline survey.
Develop and maintain effective coordination with government departments in target district and on provincial level, ensuring smooth coordinated tri-partied project.
Designed various awareness raising campaigns at district and provincial level.
Overall supervise the distribution of winter kits and other project activities and the team in all districts.
Coordinate the project i.e., its progress, loopholes etc.
Review the project day-to-day documents, reports etc.
Supervise, technically support in carrying out quality project all end-of–event/process documents, reports etc

• Assist the Project Manager in implementing cash distribution component of RECOVER project.
• Support the Project Manager in developing detailed implementation plan and distribution plan.
• Support the management in developing the vulnerability criteria for identification and selection of cash participants of RECOVER project.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures for registration and cash distributions as per Cash Transfer Programming guidelines and Program Management Manual.
• Support the identification, verification and validation of beneficiaries and processing cash beneficiary lists approved and authorized by the Management.
• Work with partners to ensure clear communication with affected communities regarding eligibility criteria, entitlements, how to access assistance and give feedback through CARM.
• Devise and implement a mechanism to eliminate the probability of exploitation of potential cash participants at the hands of community focal persons.
• Exposure visit to Qilla Saifullah and Dukki/Nana saab to facilitate the identification of TB patients through mobile van intervention (ACF) under the New Funding Request (NFR) project.
• Support MEL in collection of beneficiary data as per the stipulated selection criteria and add to beneficiary database and profiles.
• Prepare final beneficiary list and registration form and share it with Cash Transfer service provider and monitor the cash disbursement process.
• Monitor the ongoing cash distribution activities and report on unmet needs and gaps to the management.
• Prioritize vulnerable cases during distribution and provide needed support; Refer protection cases, when identified, to the relevant stakeholders.
• Mobilize the religious fraternity (imam masjid) to disseminate key messages on risks and prevention of COVID-19 among general masses.
• Deliver orientation sessions to the religious fraternity on promoting acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination, to facilitate the awareness campaigns within general masses.
• Ensure beneficiaries are respected and cared for during distribution activities.
• Prepare event reports, training reports, monthly progress reports and success stories and submit to PM for review.

Community Mobilization
• Community mapping of the project locations to identify large mosques to induct 26 religious leaders for community mass awareness on risks, prevention and promotion of vaccination of COVID-19.
• Conducted the assessment, final selection and on-boarding of 26 religious leaders for mass awareness on COVID-19
• Organized training of religious leaders on infection prevention of COVID-19 and promotion of vaccination by liaising with Inter-faith religious council for harmony.
• Monitoring the community awareness activities on COVID-19 undertaken by the religious leaders.
• Ensuring loud-speaker announcement by the religious leaders on promoting positive adaptation of COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Facilitated the mechanism of online payment transfer to religious leaders.

• Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target audience.
• Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that promotes the organization\'s activities, products and/or services.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists and maintain a media database.
• Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand, and coordinate publicity events as required.
• Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics.
• Manage conflict as it arises and escalate to management
• Support in collection of information for internal and external communication.
• Make frequent visits in project supported target areas and communities and record activities in the form of case studies, pictures, slides, films and written reports.
• Document the data for outreach work.
• Provide support to Project Manager and partners in development of IEC and advocacy material
• Ensure that Record Retention Exercise is followed and progress is updated both in soft and hard form
• Assist Project Manager in development of visual reports of activities
• Development of IOP and submission of monthly report as per IOP
• Assist Project Manager in development of DIP
• Conduct interviews of stakeholders on when and where required basis

• Arrange Advocacy Session through District Level Stakeholders, CBOs, School teachers, Health department, and District administrative in the community.
• Sensitized the school teachers and administration on ensuring physical protection of the students.
• Monitoring visits through All District BHUs and RHCs Health facilities for collecting Malaria Tests and Malaria Patients Reports.
• Arranged Community Level Sessions for Malaria Awareness.
