¥ My term of employment at the legal office of the then Attorney-General of Pakistan proved to be an immensely enriching experience. My duties at the firm entailed advising clients in conference, case preparation and drafting opinions on a wide range of areas of legal practice. I had the opportunity of assisting and working with the Partner and Senior Associates of the firm on matters relating to company and commercial law, service and labour law, construction laws, telecom law and other areas of commercial legal practice. I also aided in providing advice to regular clients, including statutory bodies, on a wide range of day-to-day legal issues. In addition, I had the opportunity of assisting in the drafting and vetting of various legal documents including agreements, memorandum and article of association, deeds, etc.
¥ My internship at Hassan and Hassan, which is amongst the top-tier corporate and commercial law firms of Pakistan, exposed me to various types of legal work and facilitated me in acclimatizing myself to life as a corporate lawyer. Apart from providing assistance in case preparation by way of electronic and non-electronic legal research, I was given the task of writing opinions and client memorandums on various legal issues pertaining to inter alia company law, international trade law, private international law, banking law and constitutional law. My duties also included vetting and drafting legal documents of a diverse nature.
¥ During my rewarding weeks as an intern at Ramday Law Associates, my primary responsibilities included assisting the associate advocates in case preparation and research for various litigation cases. I learnt skills such as electronic and non-electronic legal research from both Pakistani and English sources such as the PLDs and All England Law Reports. Miscellaneous tasks such as vetting and drafting legal documents were also assigned to me from time to time.
¥ I joined Baker as a part-time representative. During my time there, I was assigned to different sales centers of prestigious, multi-million dollar projects. As a representative I was responsible for all aspects of client services which included regular interaction with buyers, real estate agents, project managers etc. In this role, I gained valuable organizational skills, exposure to customer service and satisfaction, and it helped develop my understanding of the Canadian Real Estate markets.
