 Survey the project area and work with the community development groups in site identification suitable for installation of micro/mini hydro power generation plants;

 Conduct Technical Survey and prepare Technical feasibility of the Micro Hydro Projects.

 Work out the economic feasibility of each of the micro/mini hydro project in terms of its power output and utilization by the number of households.

 Design the layout of micro/mini hydro power plants at the specific sites.

 Design the transmission network.

 Preparing BOQs of Mechanical/Electrical engineering-related components and provide relevant inputs on ways to ensure the required quality of standards and specifications.

 Manage technical and engineering components related to SRSP PEACE program implemented in the project area including the supervision and back stopping support to the Field Engineers.

 Supervise the work of field engineers providing appropriate guidance and training to maintain efficiency and standards.

 Monitor on ground installation of micro/mini hydro power generation plants and advise the contractor and community as the need may be for high quality work.

 Assist in the tracking of financial expenditure of all program funds in areas of responsibility.

 Participate with the Procurement Unit by preparing BOQs for tenders for machineries such as but not limited to; turbines, submersible pumps, solar energy systems, Micro hydro power generation units, generators, transformers etc.

 Checking the quality and specifications of the Electro/Mechanical equipments at the factory site and civil works at project implementation site.

 Sign Goods Received Note (GRN) and Technical Inspection Report of the Electro mechanical equipments supplied to site.

 Checking & counter signing the civil work bill prior submitting to the finance section for payments.

 Dealing with suppliers and Contractors regarding the process, progress and quality of MHPs.

 Travel to individual engineering projects to monitor progress and evaluate the quality of work.

 Provide regular written and oral reports regarding the status of ongoing projects.

 Impart onsite training to community activists for successful operation of micro/mini-hydro

 Provide technical advice and leadership for the production of Project outputs power stations;

 Assist the Program officer MHP in the preparation of reports required by the Head office, mobilization and administration of project inputs.

 Assist the Program officer MHP in the preparation and timely submission of work plans, budgets and reports.

 Maintain electronic and paper records in accordance with program standards.

 Ensure that Schemes are completed, from a technical viewpoint, in a timely manner and with appropriate regard to quality.

 Participate in maintaining MHPs files and providing all required BOQs and other engineering related documents for filing.

 Prepare the monthly and quarterly engineering progress report of MHPs.

 Prepare technical reports on regular basis as required by the supervisor and upon completion of the assignment, prepare and submit a comprehensive technical report giving findings and recommendations in five copies (together with a diskette compatible).


 Undertake any other duties as may be required by the project management within the field of competence
