I am a Management Information System (MIS) and Information Technology (IT) practitioner with experience in designing and implementing software-based solutions for data and information management. With a computer science background with a particular interest in problem analysis, requirement gathering, system design and testing and developing user manuals and guides. For the last two years, I have served for an international non-governmental organization, semi-government institutions and academia. I have acquired on-job training on data management and reporting, information security and developed a functional understanding of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL). I have an interest in working on new ideas and identifying technology-oriented solutions to development and humanitarian problems.
My role is to maintain the Information Management System including collection, review and process the beneficiary data into software-based solutions and generate regular and ad-hoc reports for thematic and implementation managers, donors and other stakeholders. In addition to maintenance, I also work on upgrading the existing MIS system to PowerBI based dashboards. Following are the brief tasks undertaken in the current role:
§ Management of all the country office level data, following up with partners to collect, clean and compile data on monthly basis to meet various reporting requirements.
Development of Need assessment tools and database and arranged trainings on them
§ Designing, updating, cleaning, maintenance and backing up of various databases.
§ Regular project data entry on specified formats and producing information, data and statistics for agreed and ad-hoc reports.
§ Analysis of data to make it presentable for management using PowerBI Dashboards.
§ Assisting in designing format for field data collection tools related to MEAL.
§ Ensure the programs’ databases meet data management and information security guidelines.
§ Rolling out SharePoint based document management system for county office
§ Conduct regular field visits to validate means of verification and support partners in maintaining reporting and accountability systems.
§ Capacity building trainings for field and partner staff on current statistics and monitoring approach to upgrade their knowledge.
My role was to maintain the smooth functioning of IT Infrastructure in Pakistan Country Office including Firewall monitoring, managing issue tickets at Jira Service Desk, arrange capacity building sessions about the usage of multiple IT tools. Following are the brief tasks undertaken in this role:
§ Actively involved in Encryption Project Global Rollout in Save the Children - to keep the organization's data protected.
§ Develop user guides for Office 365 and SCI Account Management for all staff, Save the Children
§ Arranged Online Child Safeguarding Awareness and IT Security Awareness Campaign sessions for all staff in Save the Children Pakistan Country Office
§ Arranged IT tools (Skype for Business, OneDrive for Business, MS Teams, SC Account Management, SharePoint) orientation sessions for all staff
§ Monitor firewall, day to day IT related activities and responding to issues by Jira Service Desk
§ Provided IT Support to all Pakistan Country office staff and remote support to field staff
