Together with the Production Manager and Production Staff participate in Plan and draw up a production schedule and the planning of short-term operations or maintenance activities across the plant operations ensuring that relevant performance information is collected, analyzed and outcomes are implemented.
Issue operation daily plans and attend the daily production / maintenance meetings to ensure that change activity is coordinated across the site. Coordinate between departments to ensure change projects and modifications are developed and implemented.
Coordinate all production activities of the assigned plan with shift Supervisor, panel operators, operators, and maintenance technicians etc. to monitor activities to validate alignment to defined procedures and maintain its operational stability in line with defined plans, policies and guidelines.
Decide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
Select equipment and take responsibility for its maintenance
Review and monitor the day-to-day operational activities in collaboration with Shift Engineer to maximize prime grade product at optimum rate of production at minimum cost and achieve production efficiencies.
Coordinate with Maintenance for all related to job planning. Approve maintenance Work Requests issued by the staff and validate their execution as per priority while highlighting any non-conformances for prompt action by responsible parties.
Authorize hot permits and follow up on activities as per policies and guidelines; participate in critical operating procedures (which includes start-up and shutdown, commissioning and testing of new equipment of the assigned plant) and during emergency situations, to provide control and coordination and to monitor and validate alignment to quality and HSE procedures and technical guidelines while assisting in handling any technical non conformances as per delegation of authority.
Conduct inspection tour with Shift Engineer of the operating units to validate smooth running and to ensure that all critical equipment is in good operating condition. Monitor the effective implementation of the equipment inspection plan as per defined schedule and implement recommendations to support continuous operations in line with defined quality and HSE standards.
Discuss shutdown and start-up operations with the Shift Engineer of the affected unit and inform other sections to support successful completion of major activities.
Collaborate with all section teams to carry out process studies and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to achieve cost efficiency and increase in productivity using state of the art and best fitted new technology and methodologies.
Follow up on the running plan in order to detect issues and propose improvements related to safety, environment, reliability, through-put, variable cost control, etc. as per the defined guidelines and industry best practices.
Participate in the analysis of Accident / Incident / Near Miss reports, Claims and Non-Conformities etc. to provide technical input and facilitate effective resolution of process issues for operational continuity. Represent the assigned production plant on new projects to provide operational advice and to review the plans that are being put in place.
Provide inputs and implement departmental policies, systems and procedure across the plant so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Ensure the Safe operation of the plant and compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Collaborate with HSE and Quality on related issues such as process safety, maintaining and updating system documentation and continuous improvement systems, etc. to achieve and exceed target standards.
Follow and promote the best work practices related to optimum production, quality, health, safety and environmental protection.
Coordinate the issue of the Incident Reports with Shift Engineer and follow up till close out after due implementation of corrective / preventive actions
Scheduling work station assignments, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
Handling emergencies and higher production needs by managing manpower and resources by sitting with production team.
Workplace Inspection, Hazard identification and Risk Assessment to measure the performance of control measures with immediate corrective action plan and implementation.
Monitoring routine maintenance and troubleshooting for equipment on regular basis for higher productivity and efficiency.
Ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers
Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
Monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programs
Liaise with different departments, teams and companies, e.g., Suppliers, managers, clients
Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met

Carried out Shift activities in compliance with company HSE policy to meet the quality product and to ensure safe work environment.
Organize and supervise the day-to-day activities of team members & subordinates to ensure that all field operating/maintenance activities are carried out and executed in safe and efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy so that the operational area meets customers’ demands.
Ensure all works are well planned, all resources required to perform the work are identified and available to meet the latest acceptable completion date.
Act as the person in charge for the shift and work permits to coordinate the shift general activities and make shift wide decisions in line with defined delegation of authority levels.
Organize special assignment out of the shift system for arranging daily maintenance activities, planned shutdown work, follow up of preventive maintenance schedules etc. and closely supervise critical operations carried out by Panel / Operators to ensure adherence to standard operating instructions.
Review and validate that equipment is prepared for hand over to maintenance as per schedules and then returned to service in a safe, efficient and environmentally sound manner. Assist the Shift Supervisor in issuing necessary work permits for activities of other sections in the plant area and follow up on work to validate adherence to defined guidelines and procedures.
Undertake troubleshooting of technical issues of a more complex nature across the process’s areas escalated from junior levels to support prompt resolution.
 Monitor the material/chemical requirements to ensure adequate quantities are available and that the operation’s effectiveness is not compromised by highlighting any non-conformances promptly to Head.
Plan and follow up on short term operations or maintenance activities across the plant operations and coordinate with Production Manager and other related internal functions to achieve the defined production target in line with HSE and quality standards.
Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Make sure staff is sufficiently trained in both safety and emergency procedures in coordination with training and operating instruction staff to minimize risk and ensure any emergencies are dealt with appropriately.
