Integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM) with Virtual Reality VR

<p>BIM is a 3D model-based process nowadays used by engineers, architects and construction professionals. It helps them to perform their work (plan, design and construct) in an efficient way. The use of BIM software is increasing day by day and it’s a new door to latest technology. It is also a teaching innovation in medical education, teaching anatomy to student can be make cost effective and sophisticated through virtual reality without use of real dead bodies. It is used for Planning, designing and constructing many infrastructures like roads, buildings, ports and tunnel etc. the advantage of using BIM is that it reduces rework, improves productivity and reduces conflict. It built an environment for working in which it represents the real environment, by which it makes the work easier for construction manager to take efficient decisions.</p> <p>Pakistan is a developing country; the use of technologies is less in Pakistan as compared to developed countries. Owners are increasingly requiring BIM services from construction managers all over the world, but the adoption of BIM in building construction industry of Pakistan is very slow. Our study was based on application of BIM in construction and project management. In this project, BIM model of a hospital was produced using Autodesk Revit 2015. After then it is integrated with gears for virtual reality to enhance the real-time communication and integration of BIM to the site and task conditions, and the interaction of BIM with the field crew. </p>
