Project design for the production of N-butanol from ethanol by guerbet proc

<div><p>Description:-</p> <p>                     Using a catalyst and compressed Hydrogen(H2), this research tries to create n-Butanol (n-CH3(CH2)3OH) from (CH3CH2OH). Every year, our method turns 100 million gallons of ethanol (CH3CH2OH) into 70.4 million gallons of 94 percent fresh butanol (CH3(CH2)3OH). The fixed-bed Catalytic Reactor operates at 374 °F and 725 pound per square inch and comprises spherical pellets of acetylacetonate of ruthenium(III)3 with a great fraction of 0.391. By Fllow the Reaction, the Hydrogen(H2) is extracted from the streamline coming from the product and returned to the reactor using two flash separation units. The Butanol (CH3(CH2)3OH) is later extruted from the distillation tower's bottoms. Using two units of distillation and Ethylene Glycol as starter, the leftover (CH3CH2OH) and Water (H2O) are separated. The factory will be built in Iowa, USA, near an adjacent (CH3CH2OH) plant that uses corn as a feedstock. Because our method employs Ethanol (CH3CH2OH) as a feedstock and the project is predicted as a future market for Butanol(CH3(CH2)3OH) biofuel, the cost of Butanol(CH3(CH2)3OH) is expected to be a multiple of the cost of Ethanol (CH3CH2OH).</p> <p>Our approach is not profitable at the present Ethanol (CH3CH2OH) pricing, assuming that Butanol(CH3(CH2)3OH) is 1.51 time greater then cost of ethanol (CH3CH2OH). It was discovered that the cost of Butanol(CH3(CH2)3OH) would have to be 2.219 time then cost of (CH3CH2OH) to have a positive Net Present Value after 15 years. Because of extreme volatility of biofuel pricing and policy, this procedure should be carefully examined in the future, even if profitability is not possible in the current market.</p></div>
