I bring with myself more than Two decades of experience of outreach, journalism, and translation as I have worked with the development sector and mainstream media in Pakistan. I have served on top positions in the mainstream newspapers/TV channels in Pakistan, besides working with NGOs, INGOs and donor-funded projects. My three-decade association with mainstream media gives me a vast and comprehensive links in Pakistan’s media – print, electronic, and online. I have been part of the countrywide media outreach on the national issues such as the general elections in Pakistan, reducing gender gap between voters, citizens’ engagement, parliament, etc. As I have worked both on the desk and reporting sections in the mainstream media outlets, I understand the needs of outreach for any development sector project, ensuring that the message reaches the intended audience in easy-to-understand languages – in English, Urdu and regional. Currently I am providing translation services to IFES Pakistan’s She Leads Pakistan / P2P Projects and Haqooq-e-Pakistan. For these two organizations, I am translating their training manuals, articles and other documents. Earlier, I have translated manuals on local government, elections, governance etc. for national and international organizations. This includes the translation of manual on disaster management at local levels for VSO, which was implementing a PPAF project funded by European Union.
