• Transmission/ Operation and Maintenance Engineer (SDH/DWDM) Commissioning of SDH/DWDM/OTN equipment.
• Standalone PAT, Integration and commissioning activities of SDH & DWDM nodes.
• Inter MSC STMs plan implement like patching of new plans, troubleshooting of down STMs or Optical connectivity Plan implement with 3rd party.
• Installation of SDH/DWDM based equipment.
• Testing and commissioning of HUAWEI SDH and DWDM equipment and also trouble shooting of faults in optical cards.
• Assist the regional managers/team leaders in acceptance testing and HO/TO activity.
• Manage on site correction of performance degraded links highlighted by the Regional Manager/team leader.
• Rectify remote and on site equipment failures and their escalation to equipment vendor/subcontractors.
• Follow up with vendors and subcontractors for fault diagnostics and clearance.
• OTDR Testing of link for fault localization, localization of Losses between two stations.
• Ensure Service KPIs related to troubleshooting, escalation and fault management are met.
• Optical Fiber Cable Splicing & Jointing experience in field. All types of Optical Distribution Frame (ODF) installation.
• Insertion Loss (IL) Testing through Power & Source Meter.
• Analyzing of Alarms appearing in the network and making Analysis reports on daily basis.
• Corrective and Preventive Maintenance of Optical fiber backbone network and ensuring 99.999% availability of network on 24/7 basis.
• Respond to emergency situations and on-call basis as assigned such as to mobilize to the fault to rectify the fiber cut or equipment replacement in case of critical faults.
• Oversee Optical Fiber Network for the designated area.
• Coordinate with subcontractor on day to day activities; provide feedback to management on Subcontractor’s performance/ongoing issues through proper documentation.
• Maintain an inventory of the test equipment & tools and ensure that test equipment is properly calibrated.
