Sahara Community Health Association (SaCHA) is a community health program of the Diocese of Hyderabad Church of Pakistan. It is a non-profitable, none government organization works in four districts of lower Sindh. The head office is based in Rattanabad, Mirpurkhas. SaCHA serves without discrimination of sex, caste, color, creed and religion with dedication, communities in Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Thar and Sanghar districts by implementing following projects for development of .
1. Tuberculosis (TB) care project.
2. WASH ( Water, Health & Hygiene and sanitation)
3. MCH care ( small contributions in mother and child health by training Traditional birth attendants in natal care.

My job description is to execute the strategy of SaCHA for achievements of objectives by managing staff to implement planned activities. Apart from this proposal writing, report presentation and arranging training of team is also my responsibility.

Diocese of Hyderabad TB program has been actively working in the field of tuberculosis for more than 4 decades. The working area of this program is part of Sanghar, Umerkot, Thar and Mirpurkhas districts. At each of these districts besides catchment area there is a base clinic, which is diagnostic center for tuberculosis. This service is fully affiliated with PTP (Provincial TB Control Program, Sindh Govt.), All the cases are notified to District Health Authorities with their followups in a recognized standard WHO guided report proformas. For the last 6 years the treatment success rate of this program has been around 92%.
My responsibility in this TB program was to routinely visiting all these clinics, examine patients. Ensure that WHO and PTP TB diagnostic and treatment protocols are followed. Provide training for continued update to staff, prepare quarterly reports to respective district TB Control Authorities and attend district meetings in DHO offices.

SCH is a small 30 bedded general hospital. Its primary focus was on obstetrical care but Child care and general medical care was also provided.
My job was to provide medical care in general practice clinic but according to need I also provided care to sick neonates. Apart from this I was also called to provide extra help in OR.

Shilokh Hospital has a history for its eye care in the area, though it also provide services in General Surgery and Maternity care.
During my posting in this hospital my job was to attend general and eye OPD under supervision of Consultants. First on call for emergency and ward patients and assist Consultants in ward rounds and operation room.

KCH is the base hospital of RHCP; it is located at the junction of irrigated fertile land with arid desert area of Thar. Until 2000 there were very scarce medical facilities available for population of Thar Desert. Therefore this general hospital had to provide medical care in every needful field as Rural Hospitals usually do, and as there was shortage of manpower medical staff would work in all fields as needed.
Basically I worked on medical side, attending adult general medical, pediatric medical, TB clinic and also assistant to pediatric surgeon in OR. Admitting patients from clinic and emergency, helping in ward rounds, carrying out orders of consultant physicians on rounds. Also providing support to Clinical Lab and X-ray room.
