Having 34 years’ experience in total, out of which 10 years in Higher Education Commission, Islamabad and 19 years’ experience working with UNESCO Islamabad on different positions on programme development and implementation of projects in promoting Livelihood & Empowerment of Women, Inclusive Education, Human Rights & Gender Equality, especially Girls' Right to Education, Education For All, Early Childhood Care and Education, Literacy & Non-Formal Basic Education (especially empowering adult women to eliminate Gender inequality in education, , Technical and Vocational Education, Water, Sanitation & Health (WASH) and Education System Strengthening in the country.
While working for UNESCO Islamabad, under One UN Programme's Cross Cutting Theme "Gender Equality", I managed 4 years Project titled "Towards Gender Parity in Pakistan" and specifically worked to achieve EFA Goal No.5 i.e. "Elimination of Gender Inequality in Education".
I have worked in the area of Literacy and Non-formal Basic Education in all the four provinces and managed some 350 Adult Literacy Centres for the adult rural females which resulted in making some 8000 illiterate population literate. Apart from providing them basic education, empowered adult girls socially and financially by providing income generation skills/livelihood and enabled them to take care of their families.
I am pioneer of the Mobile Learning Programmes in Education and designed and implemented a mobile technology based training programme for ECE teachers in Islamabad that also included video-based training content. I was part of the technical team formed for development of 20 instructional videos for the project. This capacity building programme trained more than 150 rural ECE Teachers that resulted in higher enrolment and reduction in school dropout.
Developed a number of training manuals on (1) Inclusive Education); (2) Disability Awareness Training; (3) Disability and Gender Mainstreaming in Health.
My Job Description includes:
Heading the Programme Section with a team of 5 professionals covering the development sector themes i.e. Livelihood, Education especially Inclusive Education, Health, IDRR, CBR, WASH, Community Based Inclusive Development, etc.
Writing project proposals for Business Development.
Conducting Monitoring and Evaluation of external projects as third party.
Review and Analysis of the Seconary Data provided by the partners for projects\' evaluation.
Development of Tools/Questionnaires for Research and Primary Data Collection.
Development of training manuals and research documents.
Triangulation of data collected through secondary and primary sources.
Any other task as assigned by the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer.
Worked as Project Coordinator with CHEF International, Islamabad for a health project titled \'Chaudhry Sajjad Haider Momorial Hospital and Training Centre\" in District Gujrat.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Establishment of Eye Care Centre having complete services i.e. Optometry Department, Operation Theatre, General OPD, etc.
2. Hiring of technical and non-technical staff for the hospital.
3. Coordination with the vendors for construction/refurbishment of the hospital.
4. Maintaining complete record / database of the OPD / Medicines / IOLs / Spectacles / Cataract Surgeries, etc.
5. Preparing periodic reports on the progress of the hospital and presenting those to the high officials.
6. Preparing briefs / brochures of the project.
7. Any other task given by the CEO.
Worked on a UNESCO project Girls’ Right to Education in Plan International Pakistan, as per below TORs:
Project Planning: Provide technical support (UNESCO Girls’ Right to Education Programme) to the planning processes especially for project activities in the district to the implementing partners.
Project Implementation: Implement the project in the field by providing technical support to the project team in terms of livelihood and WASH activities.
Financial Management: Manage financial matters and record related to project activities in district in line with policies and procedures of Plan. Ensure timely implementation and reporting of budgeted activities and also that timely spending is reflected as activities get completed. Prepare financial reports as and when required.
Donor Liaison and Reporting: Assist Education Adviser in carrying out donor liaison and reporting where necessary. Document project learning and best practices.
Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with local district government, communities, and Plan’s field-based staff, implementing partners’ staff and associates and government representatives.
Development Sector and NGO Relations: Develop good rapport and information/communication sources with all key education related duty bearers/stakeholders and NGOs (local/national and international) present in the project area.
Field Monitoring: Carryout regular field visits on behalf of Education Adviser to assess effectiveness of project.
Partner Management: Monitor progress against objectives and deliverables; identify achievements, constraints and potential bottlenecks (if relevant) and seek solutions.
Establishing Networks: Establish networking and operational linkages of project with relevant public, education/social sector key stakeholders at district and provincial levels for undertaking advocacy on critical issues/areas.
Technical Support: Provide technical support in implementation of projects.
