• Testing and commissioning of HV equipments like CT, VT, CB .Complete testing of control circuit checks, interlocking, and alarm Indication and function checks. Detailed work on system interface schematics. Testing and calibration of measuring instruments like voltmeters, Amp meters, power meters, frequency meters, PF meters, energy Meters and transducers. Stability test of transformer differential. Testing of interlocking schemes, control and alarm schemes, Synchronizing schemes
• Lead and supervise the electrical section and also provide the assistance in trouble shooting, issues reports on major failures.
• Read, interpret the operational manual, O&M instruction, Safety rules and apply that procedure to the instrumentation and Electrical engineering mechanics and process operation.
• Trouble shooting of control panel, Relay panels and switch yard as per scheme (Auto Cad Drawing) and wiring.
• Preparation of daily schedule and meet that schedule.
• Preparation of inspection test report, conduct the inspection with client and prepare the daily, monthly and weekly report to managing director.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
• Testing, commissioning and installation of power and telecom instruments, given the training of the installed instruments to the officials and also provide the maintenance facility of the instruments.
• Keep equipment operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting repair services.
• Complete projects by training and guiding technicians.
• Testing of CT’s, VT’s, Power transformer, circuit breaker, earth mesh, MV switch gear panel, implementation of scheme as per drawing for troubleshooting, Relay and control panels on the different 132KV & 220 KV grid of NTDC and Alstom Grids.
• Perform CT primary injection test, Earth resistance test of the Yard and terminal tower, surge arrester testing, transformer testing, substation over current and earth fault testing, circuit breaker testing with related isolators and CT,PT testing .Test the earth resistance of the CCPP power plant.
• Testing commissioning and installation of meter testing bench ELMA 8301A by applied precision for the testing and calibration of the energy meters.
• Perform the Hi-pot of the power cables
• Adjust controls to generate specified electrical power to regulate the flow of power between generating stations and substations.
• Control and maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feed water heaters, filters, and chlorinators, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, and auxiliary power. Control generator output to match the phase, frequency, and voltage of electricity supplied to panels
• Make adjustments and minor repairs, such as tightening leaking gland and pipe joints; report any needs for major repairs. Monitor and inspect power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems.
• Open and close valves and switches in sequence upon signals from other workers, in order to start or shut down auxiliary units. Operate power generating equipment, including boilers, turbines, generators, and reactors, using control boards and semi-automatic equipment.
• Place standby emergency electrical generators on line in emergencies and monitor the temperature, output, and lubrication of the system. Regulate equipment operations and conditions such as water levels, based on data from recording and indicating instruments from computers
• Replenish electrolytes in batteries and oil in voltage transformers, and reset tripped electric relays. Start or stop generators, auxiliary pumping equipment, turbines, and other power plant equipment, and connect or disconnect equipment from circuits.
• Take readings from charts, meters and gauges at established intervals, and take corrective steps as necessary. Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment such as generators, turbines, pumps, and compressors in order to prevent equipment failure or deterioration.
• Communicate with systems operators to regulate and coordinate transmission loads and frequencies, and line voltages. Examine and test electrical power distribution machinery and equipment, using testing devices.
• Inspect records and log book entries, and communicate with other plant personnel, in order to assess equipment operating status. Receive outage calls and call in necessary personnel during power outages and emergencies
