I am Dr. Ilyas Rashid working in Health Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan since May 2013. I have served the Department of health Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at different positions and in different capacities like at primary health care level, tertiary care level management position I worked in District Peshawar as Public Health Coordinator,TB control officer,Stop tobacco focal person,polio eradiction office.i also worked as NSTOP officer at district Kurram and now am working as Assistant Director SHPI. I did my MBBS and MPH from Peshawar/p
After Joining the Department of health in May 2013, I worked as Medical Officer (UPEC) at primary level in Basic Health Unit and then as Town Focal Person for PEI followed by Public Health Coordinator Peshawar .I worked as Polio Eradication Officer Swabi and Peshawar and currently working as Assistant Director SHPI. I have worked with Different organizations till date. I have done 4 weeks screening course and have been actively involved in outbreak and response activities. I was part of the Health Department team which was involved in the response activities for tackling the Dengue outbreak in Peshawar district in 2017 and Leishmaniasis outbreak in Peshawar. Due to our outbreak investigation of Dengue the outbreak was controlled. I have been an integral part of district COVID-19 command and control center in Peshawar looking after the Risk Communication and Community Engagements. I have investigated WPV-1 cases and cVDPV-2 in Peshawar and have strengthened the surveillance system. Since 2013, I am actively involved in the field activities particularly for preventive curative measures against the communicable and non-communicable diseases (Tobacco Control). The field experience was really an asset for me which enabled me to work closely with the communities to response and to make context specific sensitives recommendations for control of communicable diseases. Moreover, working experience of more than seven (8) years in health department also built my skills to work in a challenging environment in the province. As a strong team player, I have built constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect within the department with partners. Moreover, I mostly maintain an open, approachable manner, and treats others fairly and respectfully. Preserves others self-confidence and dignity and shows regard for their opinions which helps me a lot in building their trust on me and accordingly achieving the results. I have adapted the skills and duties to serve as a vital cog in national health networks. My academics and work experience are also apt in supporting the management needs of outbreak and rapid response teams at provincial level. I have also been actively involved with UNICEF and WHO working on Monitoring and improving the quality of Polio campaigns (SIAs) Improving Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) Surveillance Surveillance of other Communicable diseases and non-communicable diseases Support in implementation of Disease Early Warning System (DEWS) Monitoring and improving the quality of other SIAs (measles, IPV etc) Improving routine immunization service / PEI EPI Synergy I have more than 8 years of field experience since 2013- and 6-years working experience in Government Health Sector since 2013 as mentioned above and also reflected in my detailed CV. I also have relevant experience in field response in emergency / outbreak situations as mentioned above while being team member of health department for tackling different Outbreak in Peshawar district. I have adapted the skills and duties to serve as a vital cog in national health networks. My academics and work experience are also apt in supporting the management needs of outbreak and rapid response teams at provincial level as well as National level. Regards
