VPN Network Design for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Network
This project is to design a network for an organization that consist of two sites, which are located in different Australian cities. We implement the relevant VPN services onto the network. we will design & install the complete network from scratch. We select hardware & software carefully.
Scope:
The scope of this report is to design & implement the network which meets the following requirements such as:
1- Design a secure connection between 02 site
2- Remotes users can access the company site
3- Installation of routers, PCs
4- The configuration of EIGRP, DHCP, IPSec VPN Tunnel
5- Documentation of network.
6- We used Cisco networking devices
4- Implementation of VPN
The following steps are used during the implementation of the site to site VPN.
1. Create ACL
2. ISAKMP policy (Phase1) ISAKMP key
3. IPSec transform set (Phase2)
4. Crypto map
5. Apply the crypto map on an interface
The IPsec is a standard protocol (for VPN), which provides the following features:
• Authentication
• Confidentiality
• Data integrity
• Reply detection
Windows 2012 Server with multiple domains (System Architecture)
In this project, we created a network and deployed windows servers for a video rental business called: Groovy movies. First, we proposed a network topology. Then we configured two Windows servers. We created child and parent domains.
All servers i.e. DNS, DHCP, AD DS, IIS are configured on the parent server. The child domain handles the 3 departments which have 50 users.
The Active Directory is a record of users, resources, services, and groups. ADDS provide a centralized authentication service.
Groovy Movies’ centralized user authentication is provided using MYSERVER as AD DC. As our main domain AD DS; Groovy-Moovies.com is installed on one machine while our Child domain IFC.Groovy-Movies.com is installed on another machine but our child domain is authorized by our parent domain.
Inventory, Finance and Customer Service departments are deployed in our child domain which we called IFC. DHCP and IIS servers are installed in the parent domain.
For the employee, we have created Child domain controller (CDC) which work under the supervision of parent domain controller which is the administration domain.
Here OU behave like a container of Active Directory which stores the information of a group, users or computers. We create three OUs:
1st OU is named as inventory
2nd OU is named as Finance
3rd OU is named as Customer
OU basically work on the principle of the delegation which reduces the burden of an administrator. Delegation is all about the distribution of administrative services to the user. Now, these three users will have to manage their own group instead of an administrator.
We configure the DNS server. We create a secondary DNS server on the parent domain and primary DNS server on the Child domain. If primary DNS server does not respond against the name resolution request of the clients, after a specific period of time the request is automatically forwarded towards the Secondary DNS server.
We Create the DHCP Server that handles the IP ad

In this report we designed a network for Hitech Telecommunications after analyzing the given requirements. This network has 4 branches and multiple departments. Before the designing of this network I develop the network strategy. And Network topology design in Netsim.

I define IP addresses and used /26 subnet mask. I also configure the routers, and switches. I used CDP protocol for display information about directly connected devices to router we create VLAN, Trunking on switches 3550 series, I set VTP domain, password we create VLAN Sub Interface and Access list on Router 2811 we create DHCP Scope Configuration, Access point not support in Netsim Hitech Telecommunication provides different telecom services. It has four major branches in Australia:

1- Canberra

2- Melbourne - HQ

3- Adelaide

4- Brisbane

Each branch has 200 users in 4 departments while Melbourne has 5 departments and 300 employees. Melbourne also has web and file servers for their online shopping site.

Network Topology Diagram - Switch configuration (VLAN, Trunking) - Router configuration (VLAN sub interface, Access lists) - DHCP configuration (Scope creation with screen shot) - Access point, server configuration guidelines.

Detailed Network Design in Netsim which includes - All switches - All routers - VLAN - VTP - All PCs

Network device configurations a. Switch configuration: - Set IP addresses on PC and switch - Create VLAN - Ping each other - Set VTP domain with your first name - Set VTP password with your family name - Demonstrate VTP packets b. Router configuration - set descriptions on interfaces - one with your name -second with your family name - third with your middle name - display information about directly connected devices to router - Setup IP addresses for each interface. - What is the subnet mask - Ping all routers.

In this project, we design a network for an IT College, which is efficient, scalable and uses industry-specific standards. The network is implemented in computer labs & classrooms. We made topology in Netsim and used Cisco 3-layer model and created IP addressing scheme with minimum wastage of IP addresses. We use switches, routers, computers, servers, IP Phones, and APs.
The college has two buildings, building one has 04 computer labs and building two has 03 computer labs. Each lab contains 35 computers, 01 server, and 01 IP phone. The distance between the two buildings is 500 meters, we used optical fiber cable between two buildings. Wireless network connection is available for students within college premises. The IT institute also has four classrooms, each containing one computer.
In this project, we configured VLANs, VTP and DHCP on switches.
, we used Cisco 3-layer model, which help to design the network efficiently. In the future, the expansion of users can be accommodated with the help of increases the number of switches in the network.
We used Cisco 3-layer model which consists of three layers:
1- Core layer
The core layer is a backbone of the internetwork. The main function of the core layer is to transfer a large amount of data through the network with high data throughput speed.
2- Distribution Layer
The distribution layer is the interface between the access switches and the core switches. Some functions performed at the distribution layer are:
It provides security including the firewall.
it provides WAN access.
3- Access Layer
It provides users access to network resources
In this report, we design a network for a call center. We gathered the requirements from users by doing interviews.
After that, we designed the network using Cisco Systems’ hardware and software. We ensured security, stability, scalability, and speed at top priority. We established network performance metrics.
At the very end, we provided network monitoring software and References in IEEE format.
we used a collapsed core network model which consists of two-layer
1- Access Layer
2- Core layer.
The access layer provides access connectivity for the end devices of network i.e. Printers, PCs, Laptops, Phones, IP Phones, etc.
1- Company is connected to ISP by R1 and R2. The advantage of having 2 routers and 2 connections to ISP is load balancing and redundancy. Cisco 2811 routers with 2 FastEthernet ports are used.
2- Routers are connected to Core Switches. Core Switches are Cisco 3550 Multilayer Switches with 12 FastEthernet and 2 Gigabit Ethernet Links. Gigabit links are used to connect to access switches.
3- 4 Access Switches are used for user PCs. Cisco 2960 24 TTL Switches are used which have 24 FE ports and 2 GE ports. This allows us to connect approximately 90 workstations to the network with few printers and Wireless APs.
4- For wireless access Linksys LAPAC2600 Dual-Band MU-MIMO Access Points are used. These can provide data rates up to 2.5Gbps.
5- Standard PCs are connected to Access Layer switches.
6- Laptops and phones connect wirelessly with the network using APs.
An IT Institute has a two-story building with four computer labs with 20 computers having internet connectivity. The IT Institute also wants to set up four classrooms, each containing one computer and an IP phone.
The library will have 10 computers to allow students access to the library resources. Also, 10 computers will be made available for staff and administration. Finally, the wireless network should be made available to students and staff inside campus premises.
In this project, we create a design and create a logical, efficient and scalable network. In addition, we’ll use industry-specific standards.
For the installation of the network, the following equipment is required:
1- Router 1 – Cisco 2800 Series – 2811 – 2 FE, 2 Ser,
2- Switches 6 – Cisco 2900 – 2960x – 2GE, 24 FE
3- Switch 1 – Cisco 3500 - 3550 – 2GE, 12 FE
4- AP – 4 - Cisco 802.11ac CAP
5- IP Phones – 8 – Cisco 8841 VoIP.
6- Connecting Cables – STP, CAT6
7- Racks – 4 – for each lab
8- Servers – 4 - HP Proliant ML350 GEN9 6C XEON E5 2.4GHZ 16GB RAM, 10TB SSD
9- PCs – 96 – HP Pavilion Power Desktop 580-150ng AMD Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz, 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD
10- Monitors – 100 – HP LEDs
This report presents what makes today’s communication as fast as it is by designing and deploying a communication network for a company called ABC Intellectual. ABC Intellectual is a medium-sized company that needs to deploy a computer network with secure servers in its two sites; Sydney and Melbourne. Each site has 50 employees in different departments such as management, staff etc.
We gathered the requirements from the client and designed the deployed the network. We used Cisco hardware and software equipment. We used the latest technologies (such as VLAN, VTP, STP, EIGRP, NAT, DHCP, DMZ, etc.) which can easily accommodate the network load up to 5 years
