概要
Born and raised in Dubai, Obaid came to Pakistan in the year 2001, right after 9/11. Living through his teens in rural Punjab, he discovered his culture and created a bond with the locals. A bond, which helped him, understand the realities of the working class and marginalized.
During the early 2000s, Obaid became interested in video and started making short videos with a Handycam. The past time became a full-time profession when a private university in Lahore started offering a 4 year bachelor's program in film production. Since graduation, Obaid has worked as a freelance camera operator for international film and documentary productions.
in 2021, Obaid graduated with a Masters Degree in Documentary Film Directing from the prestigious documentary film program, DocNomads, an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship program
