Life of man on the planet of earth is subject to a variety of challenges. The natural hazards like floods, earthquakes, droughts etc. and man-induced calamities like wars, persecutions, harassment etc. have uprooted millions of people as refugees and IDPs. Provision of Protection to vulnerable groups during crises and after crises (from short term to long term) is one among the many responsibilities needing immediate attention. In a significant portion of my professional career I have worked on this call of providing Protection to vulnerable groups and I am committed to cling with it in rest of my professional life as well.

Senior Protection Assistant (Team Leader)
Working as Team Leader Registration Assistant in RSD team of SHARP office in Mardan responsible for: Coordinating activities of the team related to development of a network in the targeted community (Refugees and Asylum Seekers), community profiling, mapping of Services Providers and identification of volunteers for accessing vulnerable profiles in the community and reporting thereof on Protection Referral Forms (PRF) for facilitating them with Enhanced Registration (ER), Community Based Protection (CBP) and Resettlement in third countries.
Reviewing case studies prepared by team members for reporting to the Donors and after referral back from Donors processing Protection Needs Assessment (PNA) and/or Initial Screening (ISF) Interviews of the vulnerable families and individuals (under mandate of UNHCR), including BIA and BID of vulnerable children.
Advocacy for the rights of refugees and providing advices and counseling to the applicant/s during interviews and to community in sessions about their rights as refugees and referring them to UNHCR and/or other protection partners through the referral mechanism of Sharp Pakistan, developed by members of our teams.
Coordination with Donors, Authorities (like District Administration and Police Officials) and Stakeholders (like Community Representatives Partner Organizations etc.) for ensuring smooth implementation of the project.
Reporting on Weekly, monthly and Annual bases and presentation thereof before the Donors
Police sensitization training on rights of Refugees and Asylum Seekers, information sessions in community and in seminars, coordination with government officials and departments in addition with other relevant tasks as and when assigned by supervisors.
Office Clerk
1. Supervision of logistic services for refugees (with or without identity documents) between UNHCR office at Diplomatic Enclave in Red Zone of Islamabad and SHARP office Islamabad
2. Responsibility of security clearance of shuttle services for refugees and staff to ensure their access to the Diplomatic Enclave and Red Zone of Islamabad
3. Scheduling of refugees and asylum seekers for appointments in UNHCR BOI/ Sharp Islamabad and coordinating data exchange between SHARP and UNHCR
4. Reporting of activities on daily and monthly bases and other related tasks as and when assigned by supervisor/s.
