Emergency Education Coordinator as a member of the Global Surge team is responsible for deployment to support either existing country programs in their emergency response, or to initiate a new program in the crisis zone. The overall responsibility to rapidly and effectively design, develop and manage the IRC’s on-site emergency education response to meet the immediate educational needs of the affected population. This position is also responsible for supporting the transfer of responsibilities and knowledge to the long-term staff to ensure the continuity of IRC education programming and operations.

As Education Program Manager, provided strategic leadership to southern region of Yemen for Education standalone and integrated projects (CP, H&N, WASH) consisting of formal and non-formal Basic Education programs. Led in setting strategic direction for the education sector for the South region, designed new programs and projects, and identified and pursued strategic partnerships. I was responsible for proposal and budget development, ensuring program quality and donor accountability for a range of projects funded by NMFA, JPF, ECHO, SIDA, USAID and UNOCHA, and directly supervised the Education Coordinator and other Education staff. I represented SCI with Partners, Donors, and key national and international stakeholders, and worked regularly with SC members and internal stakeholders to maximize program quality. Ensured that program learning, research, and evaluation findings are channeled towards advocacy, continuous improvements, and new program design. I also worked as an Interim Project Director of USAID EiE for three months and supported the team in the implementation and reporting of formal and non-formal education (basic literacy and numeracy and accelerated learning program) and coordinated with members and donors (USAID). I also worked as acting Field Manager and Deputy Field Manager during their RnR and leave time for the smooth functioning of the field office.
As an Education Coordinator, I looked Education portfolio (formal and non-formal) for the IRC Pakistan Country Education program and provided technical and strategic leadership to the emergency, education development program. I designed and provided technical support to multiyear education integrated projects (formal and non-formal and accelerated learning program) funded by FCDO (Former DFID) (9.1 million GBP a consortium project of the four organizations and IRC as a lead) and PRM (2.4 million USD). The key focus of education programming is to ensure access, quality learning, transition, and safeguarding in schools and learning centers throughout the life of the projects. In addition, I acted as the country focal point in representing IRC Pakistan at education forums and the Ministry of Education Pakistan.
As an Emergency Education specialist, I am responsible to oversee emergency education project activities in Salamiyah IDPs camp 2 for west Mosul IDPs. This intervention is funded by UNICEF and OFDA and ECHO.
Oversee IRC Education portfolio in Pakistan. Provide strategic leadership, technical designing of emergency and long term education program (formal and non-formal) complying INEE minimum standards. Supervision of IRC education team including Senior Education Manager (01), Field Manager Education (01), Field Engineers (02), Capacity building officers (02), program officer (01). Managing current 6 million USD education budget funded by Dutch Ministry of Foreign affairs and Qatar MoFA. Capacity building of implementing partners, program quality assurance, ensuring objectives are met on time and within the budget, representation in coordination forums (Education clusters) and act as IRC Pakistan focal point pertaining to education. Plan and conduct education projects base line, midline and end line surveys and ensure quality reports are produced through M&E section and external consultants. Ensure that the donor and internal reports timely are timely submitted according to guidelines.
Providing technical guidance to education staff (Field Manager Education, Capacity building officers, Field Engineers, Hygiene Promotion Manager) on formal and non-formal education, strategic leadership and support to the IRC Education program at provincial level. Assist education coordinator in exploring new opportunities in the sector and designing innovative education projects in line with the country strategic plan. Manging 07 million USD education budget funded by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UNICEF, SIDA and UNOCHA. Overseeing IRC education programs implemented directly and through 07 national implementing partners in KP/FATA provinces complying INEE minimum standards. Coordination with UN cluster, Government departments and partners.
Oversee and technical guidance to five national implementing partners in implementation of IRC community based education project in FATA as per IRC partnership standard operating procedures (SOPs). Participate in partner’s selection and pre-award assessment process to see the expertise of partners in implementation of education programs. Directly Managing 4.2 million Euros budget for community based education project in FATA.
Oversee implementation of education projects implemented through 01 national implementing partner in district Lower Dir. Supervise mobilization teams, engineers and WASH specialist in construction/rehabilitation of twenty militancy affected schools in Lower Dir. Planned and conduct base line and final evaluations of education projects. Manage 2.3 million USD budget as World vision financial guide lines. Additionally act as an Area Development Manager/Head of office during his absence to ensure smooth functioning of the office.
