Oversee maintenance and repair of the operating equipment on a turn basis to ensure maximum facility utilization and productivity
Maintain an active housekeeping program to ensure a safe, clean, and productive facility
Investigate operational and technical issues, lead troubleshooting activities, resolve problems, and thoroughly document activities on a turn basis
Thoroughly understand equipment capabilities and limitations as related to product quality, facility productivity, cost of operation, and overall reliability
In case of emergency, take all necessary counter measures and contact appropriate staff as laid down in the operating procedures in order to ensure that any risk to personnel, plant or process operation is minimized.
Ensure all operating, safety, environment and quality procedures are followed in order to ensure the highest standards of operation and to support the achievement of continuous uninterrupted utility supply.
Actively participate in QC Circle activities and actively seek opportunities for improvement in plant, equipment and processes. Rolling pass schedule preparation and correction.
Manage Roll Shop and Guide Shop activities.
Provide support to employees and co-workers on quality related issues.
Interact with mill maintenance to organize timely repairs and PM.
Manage the discipline and grievance process for the mill.
Maintain parts inventory of bearings, guides, saw blades, etc.
Support efforts to increase shipments and minimize inventory.
Maintain safe and reliable Rolling Mill systems while improving production rates, uptime efficiencies, yields, cost, and changeovers.
Rolling Parameters Setting like  Pass Schedule, finishing temperature, cooling temperature to achieve the required Mechanical properties, Physical properties.
Preparation and compilation of documents like SOPs, Shift report, History cards, and Check lists.
Ensure production efficiency and achievement goals.

Creating maintenance procedures.
Diagnosing faults.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Maintaining statistical and financial records.
Managing stocks of supplies and equipment.
Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance.
Responding to breakdowns.
