I’m an Environmental Safeguard Specialist and have practiced environmental planning, assessment, and compliance for the last 08 years. I have worked at different forums and set-ups which include both scientific and corporate levels, and recently has joined the CLICK as Environmental Safeguard Specialist on February 2021. I have degree in BS (Environmental Studies, 2014, from UoK) and MS (Environmental Science, 2020, from SMIU) with a dissertation in Carbon Stock Assessment of Pai Forest with the support of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility of the World Bank, MoCC and REDD+ Pakistan.

I have very diverse experience in the multi sectors of the environment and started my career from an NGO as ESMF focal person, afterward joined an Environmental Consultancy firm as an Environmental Specialist developed expertise in carrying out and managing environmental audits, environmental and social impact assessments, and environmental due diligence for projects in the public and private sectors. I have managed projects funded by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), REDD+, in addition to projects under the purview of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Additionally, I have undertaken a number of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) studies as an environmental expert and as a team member of numerous ESIA studies for greenfield or in operational ventures, third party audits, and due diligence to access E&S performances and liabilities of the business.

I am fully aware of IFC Environmental and Social Performance Standards, World Bank Operational Policies and EHS Guidelines and ADB as well as other lenders policies and standards while working for a diversified range of projects cross-cutting public to private sectors, rural to an urban setting, forestry to mining, industrial setups to real estate developments; inland to coastal ecosystems, etc. One of the prominent recent assignments includes consultancy for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and Value Chain Solutions Unit, South Asia.

Nevertheless, I’m the founder of Climate Beacons Network (NGO) established in 2014, and Editor-in-Chief of The ClimAct Magazine, which is the only magazine from Pakistan to highlight climate change issues of Pakistan, to help achieve SDG 13: Climate Action.
