Design of a DC-DC converter for MPPT stand alone PV system

The objective of this project is to have a solar panel outputting its maximum possible power all of the time, this occurs when the panel has access to the maximum amount of solar irradiance possible resulting in its output voltage and current being at their maximum possible values. This study consists of examining solar energy as a viable option and getting the maximum power from a solar array at any given time. This is obtained by keeping the solar array at its Maximum Power Point (MPP) continually. On researching this, it has been found that some major factors come into account when the MPP is trying to be located continually. These factors include partial shading of the solar array, which may be due to clouds, location of the solar arrays, branches of trees etc. This study looks at issues of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) under Partially Shaded Conditions (PSC), and comes up with a valid solution to overcome the problem and obtain the MPP without interruption.
