(i) To closely work and liaise with SJ Head Office and South Asia & Middle East Office to keep posted/updated on various urban sector opportunities in the region;
(ii) To structure and manage SJ Urban Planning and Development Section to undertake feasibilities, Town Planning, Buildings, Industries and SEZs and allied works/projects etc.
(iii) Planning for the new projects, development and expansion of new business for SJ in following countries/regions specifically Pakistan, Afghanistan, Central Asian Republics (CAR), and Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region in coordination with BD section and other Sectional Heads;
(iv) Assist Business Development Department and Town/Urban Planning in preparing and follow up of EOIs, proposals, studies execution etc. of projects relating to Urban and Industrial Planning;
(v) Assemble/ induct (within budgetary limits and with prescribed approvals) a competent team for the Urban Planning according to work load and run it professionally, ensuring quality;
(vi) Prepare and submit designs including all related reports/documents and secure design approvals from the Clients and others concerned;
(vii) Support SJ-SMEC-EGC PAC Regional Functional Management, Team Leaders, Project Managers, Resident Engineers to deal with design and project management matters on projects and travel within the Division when necessary;
(viii) Monitoring progress on projects related to Urban Planning and to ensure that work is carried out within the approved contracts/budgets;
(ix) To maintain effective liaison with Clients and make necessary presentations on projects;
(x) Collect and maintain a list of experienced high level experts / independent specialists and sub-consultants for traffic & transport planning, environmental planning, housing, buildings, structures, urban economics and other built-environment studies etc. who could be invited on short term basis to provide expert advice on urban planning related jobs whenever required;
