Pakistan Ordinance Factories are Pakistans Best ammunition making factories. They are best known for their preciseness, best quality, and trust with the clients. I was honored to be the part of this Company and learn many remarkable things from their staff. The internship was all about understanding the power generation, distribution, and transmission. They have built their own Power Plants for their usage. The program was scheduled for visits to power plants, energy resources, control rooms, transformers, distribution lines, safety chambers and also the communication departments for the complete understanding of internees regarding their field.
The activity consisted of performing some tasks from which the community close to the performer can benefit. I chose the task to help the low-tech elders with the technology like smartphones and laptops. The second task was to help the workers at the workplace such as to minimize their burden, I used to throw my trash including disposable crockery in trash bins rather than leaving those at the cafe tables. The final task was for the humans best companions; animals, it was to place water for them at different shady areas to comfort them in the hot weather. Going an extra mile for others and especially for those who actually need your help is the finest feeling one can acquire. My motivation for this community service was to feed my humane nature and become a useful member of society.
This internship was my first experience as an intern in a multinational company. The internship was structured on different levels to understand work environment, Develop Problem-solving techniques, Visit every department individually, Learn different mental as well as technical skills to be able to solve all kinds of issues.
The workshop was held for making the students eligible for building their own robots, the one assigned to the participants was a Light Detector and line following Robot.The six days workshop was a complete package of learning, it consisted of designing, implementation, working as well as testing of the robot. It was all a time-bound competition between all the participating groups. As the name is self-explanatory, the Robot was able to follow the light source and also it was able to follow any white line drawn with obstacle detection as an additional feature using sonar sensors. The machine was Arduino based with H bridge and motor attached to all four wheels. The Robot was controlled by a mobile application and could be driven by this using Bluetooth connection. Our group was able to secure the fifth position by getting 84% marks and hence we were honored to be in top five groups.
