I completed my Masters degree in Electronic Engineering (Majors in Telecommunication) in 2012 from Latrobe University, Melbourne, Australia, after which i started working at a company by the name of LCC. At LCC i worked as a technical supervisor on a project for Telenor by the name of Remote Monitoring System, in brief this project involved installing a system on BTS sites which would enable authorized users to view certain stats such as fuel level, battery bank voltages etc for the respective site, it also provided a mechanism to provide fuel savings by only allowing generators to run when battery bank voltages fell below a certain level during power outages.
In August 2013 i moved to a company by the name of Damcon Engineering Solutions, the project i am still currently working on PERN-II (The National Research & Education Network of Pakistan) a project of Higher Education Commission hosted by Huawei. Huawei has given the contract of service management to Damcon Engineering Solutions.
I work as a Datacom Engineer on this project and am responsible for a Sub-Regional Access POP (Point of Presence: a junction/aggregation point of connections) which is a high end carrier class router. The router installed in my region is HUAWEI NE-40 E-8, I am responsible for overseeing the preventive and corrective maintenance of the router and associated equipment such as OADM, UPS, rectifiers, power distribution panels, ATS panels, Generator.
I also make the necessary configurations on the devices in my region when new clients join this network, ensure that services are running smoothly and am the first point of contact for technical support for our clients. I provide support for a variety of services to the client for multi vendor equipment such as Cisco, Huawei, Mikrotik routers and switches.

Datacom Engineer
Worked on PERN-II (The National Research & Education Network of Pakistan) a project of Higher Education Commission hosted by Huawei, Huawei has further given contract of network management to Damcon Engineering Solutions. Some of my roles and responsibilities for this position are.
• Installation, configuration, Preventive/Corrective maintenance of Huawei core routers i.e NE-40E8, NE-20E.
• Monitoring and optimization of PERN access network in respective region.
• Troubleshooting issues and providing technical support to customers for a variety of services and devices such Cisco, Huawei, Mikrotik routers and switches.
• Work experience with ACL’s, DHCP, NAT, OSPF, BGP, Route Redistribution, IP-Prefix lists, VLANS, dot1Q encapsulation, route-map, traffic-classifier, traffic-behavior, traffic-policy.
• Coordination with other teams such as power and fiber media teams to ensure smooth running of live services and meeting deadlines during phased of new deployment.
Technical Supervisor
Worked on Remote Monitoring Systems which provides the capability to monitor stats of BTS station also providing fuel saving by only allowing gensets to run when the battery bank voltages fall below a certain value.
Planning and administering field implementation, providing technical support and ensuring the task at hand is completed in an optimal and timely manner.
Testing and monitoring installed systems, getting approvals from customers.
