Trainee Engineer Operations And I&C Maintenence
Recently I worked at KAPCO G.T.P.S Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) 1600MW as a Trainee Engineer.
During this phase of training I got to work with following JD (job description) points.
• To run/Operate the Gas turbines and Steam turbines in efficient and smooth manner.
• Supervise the plant during shift hours for safe, efficient and smooth operation taking care of load demand and local procedures / instructions
• Communicate with NPCC (National Power Control Centre), RCC (Regional Control Centre), SNGPL (Sui Northern Gas Pipe Lines) etc. during shift hours.
• Ensure recording of parameters as per log sheets and monitor recorded parameters from log sheets.
• Overall process theory of combined cycle technology.
• BOP’s and Plant Auxiliaries
• P and ID’s and Electrical Single Line Diagrams
• Coordination with Incident Controller in case of emergency.
• Electrical Scheme and switch yard (132KV and 220KV).
• Familiar with STG systems i.e GFR, GGR, CVI, GTH, GHP, SRI, CAR, CET, GMA, GSE, ADG, FSR and Hydraulic Power Pack etc.
• Familiar with MARK IV E Control System
• To assess plant needs for spare parts & supplies and generate material requisitions.
• To co-ordinate with Stores and Procurement for stock inventory.
• To develop, supervises and co-ordinate plant maintenance activities
Internship Training
• Basic overview of GE MS9001 E Gas Turbines and Steam Turbines.
• Visited and studied 220 KV switch yard.
