概要

After graduating, as a mechanical engineer, from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute GIKI (ranked 1st in Pakistan and 37th Globally in SDG4 Quality Education), I joined Fauji Cement Company, in 2018, as a maintenance engineer.

I performed multiple preventive and corrective maintenance jobs under the guidance of the maintenance team leader. Later, I was involved in the installation and commissioning roles in two projects
Addition of a cement bag packing and dispatch line, Make Haver Boecker. (Dispatch capacity increased by 20).
Replacement of an obsolete airlift system by efficient belt bucket elevator, Make Aumund. (Power consumption reduced from 240 to 65KW).

My passion, to work in RD and planning roles, was realized during my appointment as Assistant Manager Maintenance and Material Demand Planning in the newly formed planning department. I encountered multiple tasks of Material Planning, SAP Material Management (MM), SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), Shutdown Planning, Demand Supply Planning, CPM Scheduling, Budgeting and Forecasting, Supplier Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Inventory Optimization/Management/Rationalization, Research and Development (RD), Project Management, and Spare Parts Management

I played a leading role, as a project engineer, in the Surface Water Supply from Natural Water Stream to Plant Reservoir Project. Its key outcomes are listed below
Cost saving of 27 million/month through this project as compared to the previous groundwater sources.
Payback period of the project is 7 months.

I am doing an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA), with major in Operations Supply Chain Management, from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST H12). The main motive behind it is to gain leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills, and to grasp some financial knowledge.

• Categorized raw materials and common spares into bearings & housings, seals, filter bags, fabrics, conveyor belts, v-belts, plates, air/oil filters, couplings & flexibles, lubricants, idlers, hardware items, and tools as per standard data masking.
• Updated descriptions for 20,634 items as per SAP standards.
• Removed 7,829 duplicate, obsolete, and slow-moving items.
• Identified common machines and spares at 03 plants, and rationalized inventory.
• Min/max inventory levels updated for 14,190 items and revised for 6,444 items.

• Assisted in overhauling of the main gearbox (Make: Flender P2DA) of rotary kiln, for ThyssenKrupp GmbH 7600 tons/day capacity plant, in teamwork with German Engineer.

• Performed air audit of plant, in collaboration with Atlas Copco, to find potential air leakages in the couplings, hoses, tubes, fittings, and pressure regulators.
(Achievement: Fixed air leakages, 8 million/year cost savings)
Projects:
• Assisted in installation and commissioning of belt bucket elevator (Make: Aumund, 69.2 meters) at CF Silo-I, for 3700 tons/day FLSmidth plant, to replace the existing obsolete airlift material transport system.
(Role: Project Engineer | Achievement: Power consumption reduced by 73% from 240kw to 65kw)
• Assisted in installation and commissioning of a new cement packing line including major equipment of belt bucket elevator, vibrating screen, and rotary packer (Make: Haver and Boecker).

Project:
Improved efficiency of the induced draft cooling towers through design modifications:
• Performed thermodynamic calculations to find outlet conditions of the water from known inlet air conditions. By applying heat and mass balance on liquid and air, the makeup water was calculated by determining losses due to evaporation, blowdown, and drift.
• To increase the contact time between air and water for better heat transfer, the speed of spraying water was reduced by increasing the number of holes/nozzles in the water distribution system.
• Fill material found to have an impact on heat transfer. Cellulose film fill was chosen for the cooling tower to provide a target temperature drop of 15°C in cooling water.
