Key Responsibilities:

Coding and Billing:

  • Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to medical procedures and diagnoses.
  • Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
  • Verify billing information for completeness and accuracy.

Claims Processing:

  • Monitor and follow up on submitted claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Investigate and address claim denials, rejections, and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with insurance providers to resolve billing issues.

Patient Interaction:

  • Communicate with patients to address billing inquiries and provide clarification on insurance coverage.
  • Verify patient information and coordinate with front office staff to ensure accurate billing details.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records of billing activities and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Stay updated on industry changes and coding guidelines.

Revenue Cycle Management:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize the revenue cycle and minimize billing errors.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to key performance indicators in the billing process.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Medical Biller in a healthcare setting. (Preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
  • Familiarity with medical insurance processes and policies. (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in billing software and electronic health records (EHR). (Preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
